Had to go and YT Nick Jonas singing Le Miz. Hmmm. It was not bad. Not painful. He has a better voice than I gave him credit for. Could I go as far as to say it is good? No. That song should have such tenderness building to such power, and should be filled with pain and angst. But the guy didn't humiliate himself. Michael Ball is, of course, one of the legendary voices of theater. I was lucky enough to be at that clip performance (if it's the one I think it is) - the 10th Anniv. of Les Mis. (Yes I was the kid who told some lie so I could go see a big shindig focused around Les Miz - that's a pathetic level of dorkishness.) I still give the Jonas kid credit. (Again WTF? I can't stand those boys). He clearly got stunt cast in terms of the 25th anniv special (after all, Michael Ball was there and in fine voice) and humbly made a decent effort among true musical stage legends. ( And to be fair musical theater folks tend to fail in their own attempts to cross over - except in doing standards/cabaret. I almost always find it painful/entertaining to hear their versions of pop or rock classics. Ouch.) So segue (kind of) to Josh Groban. Another type of singer I am so not into b/c of his material marketed to ladies (and men) who lunch. (At least it's better than Michael Buble. Adam could so have cleaned up in that market - perish the thought!). However, Josh Groban really makes me laugh when I see him interviewed or he's in some role completely sending himself up, like Glee. I don't follow him but suspect he'd like to be freed - or at least paroled - from singing those same tired ballads. Cute, funny, big voice - maybe he and Adam could do something? (Like an awards show or talk show skit - not recorded music.) I think they'd enjoy that and more important Groban has quite the fan base that could help supplement the Lambert Dimmer Fund if they came over to the light. Here are Groban and Michael Ball being deeply silly with their talent. And here (because slow day is slow, and OT day is OT, and fair is fair), in the spirit of the highlighted comment above, is Michael Ball going pop: Love the pointing . But very good-natured and game, gotta give him that! Werk those dimples, BB Lovely voice indeed. And while I share your aversion to his genre, I also share your fondness for Groban as a guy. His performance of Kanye West's tweets is one of the funniest things I've seen all year, and he was really terrific at it, managing, somehow, to turn the whole thing into a send-up of himself and almost a nod of respect towards Kanye. It was a pretty cool bit. I'd be thrilled to see a sketch with him and Adam--I could imagine how they'd play off each other.

Adam's being nice. Nicer than me in any case. I think he's getting out ahead of the wank. You know he doesn't want any of us (that's the broad us, not the us here us) being ugly in public about another artist. I don't believe for a minute he hasn't noticed the similiarities, and I guarantee you he will come out ahead on any comparison test people want to make. She looks beautiful. He looks AND sounds beautiful. Adam wins again. I totally agree...Even tho he really is generous and kind, he also is one hell of a smart cookie....tee it up with sweetness and let Lyndsay Parker and others knock it into medialand with the comparisions. You're right....Adam wins once again.

Another Adam drawing!! So talented!! Uploaded by 5amWednesdayMorning on Apr 3, 2011 I was unsatisfied with the first one so I tried again. I think I've improved in colour mixing but lost some of my ability to make things look like the people I'm drawing. This took me 7 hours. I've never spent so long on a drawing. Ever. Finished product: fallinginsane.deviantart.com/#/d3d5o1yI think I'm going to draw this man until I get him done right. It's driving me crazy...
