I'm always amazed of the depth of music knowledge that some of our posters, have. I think Cassie, in particular is very generous to share her expertise with us and I don't know of anyone who thinks she or others should stop posting about Adam, his voice and critiquing performances on a technical level. It's a great resource here at Atop and is one of things that makes this place special. The problem, if that's what it is, comes during a night like the Cape Town show, when the excitement level is so high and we're seeing amazing tweets from people at the show, new outfits, new songs, etc... but then as the videos trickle in, after a brief initial flail, the posts start to point out the flaws "...oh, he was flat here, here and here" "the VJJ's are too loud. They need to go" etc... and it kind of takes the wind out of the sails for some of us. I am not saying it's wrong to posts those things, I'm just saying trying to explain why there is sometimes conflict over it. I get the feeling that many of us process things differently. Some like to look at each component of the show and analyze and discuss right away. I think these are detail people who enjoy delving in like that. Others, and I fall into this group, like to look at the whole thing before we make a call and, I admit, probably miss some of the small details, good and bad, along the way. No style is wrong but I think they can be at odds sometimes. ITA TO ALL.

I merely answered to someone who specifically asked about the vocals in Underneath, and it kinda snowballed from that. Next time, I think it would be good to direct whoever asks about the vocals to the Vocal Masterclass thread, and then everyone can be happy. To be honest, albiku, I couldn't even point out to you a specific poster from that night, it was just a feeling, ya know? And yes, mys*&@^#r, pointing out how you're feeling is not the same as telling people what they can or cannot post. The discussion started today with Albiku wanting to share what she was feeling after some comments on the Cape Town thread. I thought it might be okay to post what I, and maybe some others, were feeling to provide the other side of the coin.

Yeah, I'd also like to know: experienced people of the night - what is a body shot?? I think 8toinfinity just answered that question.

Sometimes I feel like a thrilled little kid whose parents took me to Disneyland and then immediately showed me the seam that attaches Mickey Mouse's head to the rest of the costume. I just want a little more time to be excited before the analysis sets in.

The discussion started today with Albiku wanting to share what she was feeling after some comments on the Cape Town thread. I thought it might be okay to post what I, and maybe some others, were feeling to provide the other side of the coin. And the LEAST thing I wanted was to start some polarized discussion about it. That's why I answered Mys*&@^#r and Juniemoon via PM. So maybe we should stop now and let it go. I understand what you said, and next time we only have to deflect any questions to the proper threads. I guess that would kinda solve most of the problem. Hopefully.

I rarely have a problem with ANY post from anyone here. The beauty of a place like ATOP is that there are hundreds of people from all over the world here communicating about Adam. I LOVE the diversity of opinion! Everyone is entitled to their own personal view and I love that people are free to share it. I scroll right on by anything I don't want to read, BUT.....I'm glad to have a cornucopia of delights to choose from. EVERY angle explored is a good angle from where I'm sitting.
Thanks to EVERYONE for participating!!
