I was pleased and impressed with the In Sixty interview. When I first heard the title I thought, "Oh, certainly they are not going to do a full 60 minutes of interview with Adam," but, THEY DID.

For die-hard fans like us, there was not a whole lot of new information. But these programs are not designed for us. They are designed for the general public. Yes, the interviewer started out with the "gay," but, that is probably the biggest thing that people know about Adam, even before the incredible voice. May as well get it out of the way right up front. And Adam let it be known very clearly that he is willing to talk about it, AMONG OTHER TOPICS, but doesn't want it to be the focus.

The interviewer also talked about the three other notorious incidents in Adam's public life: the AMAs, the paparazzi incident, and the drunken bar fight. Again, these are things that the casual viewer would have heard about. I mean, I have an Adam keychain and in the store a cashier recognized Adam and said, "Didn't he have some big deal where he was arrested?" The interviewer touched on them, gave Adam the opportunity to put them in perspective, and moved on. It was not sensationalized.

I was pleased that the interviewer, who had obviously done his homework, took the time to review all of Adam's hard work prior to Idol, dispelling the myth that he was an overnight sensation who had not paid his dues. To some people, this is very important to his credibility as an artist.

Finally, a majority of the interview did focus on the music, the creativity and the artist. Adam, as we expected, was articulate, intelligent, thoughtful, open and fascinating. He also looked stunning. I think the interview was a total "win" and I wish someone would do something like that in America. Won't happen, I know. Five minutes on one topic is about as in-depth as American media ever goes. But, this was a wonderful introduction to Adam, the man and the artist. Hope we will get a high quality video of it soon.
