Holding steady. Still not exercising like I should, but I'm eating a lot healthier and the smoothies are working out well for the whole family.
Sugaree, thanks for the new thread. It will be nice to have recipes consolidated in one place.

I did a double take when I saw my leftover turkey casserole recipe in the recipie thread. Had to run to my recipe book with a printed out copy. How soon I forget my good ideas and that would have been lost forever. Thans sugaree for rescuing it.
I am the worst dieter in the world. I've never done it in my life. The only time I've lost weight was after a break up or the first 3 months I was pregnant. But I am down 2 total which at least seems to be staying off. Maybe I'll have to do the hypnosis method because it's totally a lack of control.
I'm so proud of all of you who are working up there into the double digits. Inspirational.
Alison, I need 1 drink portion smoothie recipies if you have some. I've tried to wing it with unhappy results.

Topic: Nutella
I'm a chocaholic and need a fix after a meal. Valentines was not good. But Nutella might be something I can get behind. It's about the same calories as butter in porportion but gives me the chocolate taste. I've been putting some on wheat thins, I suppose I should try it on apples and I know it's good on carrots.
Oh, tried the Roasted Kale and Roasted Asparagus suggestions today. Olive oil, salt/pepper, garlic powder in 350 oven 10-15 minutes. (I'll make smaller "chips" next time for mor even drying) I had no idea what roasting my "lettuce" would turn out like. Felt pretty foolish doing it but wow the Kale tastes like the veggie chips you buy in a bag and the asparagus was good too with the garlic zing. I'll be doing both again.

I've never tried Nutella simply because I'm not a fan of hazelnuts....do they overpower the chocolate taste?? I've discovered the most "to die for" chocolate! Lindt's dark with sea salt. OMG! If you're a fan of salty/sweet....OMG!! I do the karen thing and indulge in one square for about 25 calories..... it's very satisfying because it's SO GOOD!! (haha! can you tell I like it?) Only problem is that the bars are rather expensive at $2.69 on sale. Although not bad for calorie counters who stretch them out for a week. ......got all excited and lost my train of thought. ;D Oh....I'm about to make sugaree's Thai cucumber salad for dinner.

I have no idea what hazelnuts taste like by themselves. Far as my non-discretionary tastebuds are concerned Nutella is chocolate with a twist. Not the same as malt-chocolate but about the same distance from pure chocolate.

Topic: Beets
I always forget how to eat beets. I mean they come in a can with no instructions. So you slice them and put them on the side of the plate alongside the turkey or is that cranberries?
So anyway tonight I have half a can of leftover beets, what to do? And then I remember. Add them to salads. Well I'm saving the Kale I have left for veggie chips but yes I do need to go to the store and get some more spinach. So if they are still around into the salad they will go.
Sometime last summer I figured out how to cook garden beets. I didn't write it down. I think it was something like peel them and boil for 30. I guess I'll have to experiment again. Just checked my freezer and yep I froze some too. I wonder what I was thinking.

Topic: Orange Juice
Why? Because it's what I'm drinking right now. Saw a Dr. Oz mention on mag in grocery line. Said something about Vitamin C helping you lose weight. Also orange juice is used in so many recipes.

I love beets but usually avoid them because the peeling and cooking is such a mess, it stains everything! But this was so easy!
