You do realize anyone can buy that outfit, right? Oh yes, I know anyone can buy it, but it was a surprise to actually see a fan wearing it! Mom is pretty tall. I'll bet it looks great on her too!

The season eight "Idol" alum is using a special occasion -- his birthday -- to raise funds for global cultural diversityAdam Lambert is turning 31 years old on Tuesday, and the birthday boy has donated his special day to the We Are Family Foundation. He is encouraging fans to donate $31 to the foundation, a non-profit that promotes cultural diversity around the globe. In exchange for a donation, WAFF will send instructions on how one could record a ten second birthday greeting for the American Idol season eight alum. Those who donate less than $31 will still be able to wish him a "Happy Birthday" by signing the "world's biggest" birthday card. As of Sunday night, donations have already surpassed $16,000, the foundation wrote on Twitter. Lambert will be honored this Thursday as the recipient of the Unity Award at the We Are Family 2012 Celebration Gala, hosted by Rosie Perez and Toure at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. He will perform a show with Nile Rodgers. Additional guests include Taylor Dayne, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Sam Sparrow, Russell Peters and Kathy Sledge.

Wow. Coming in ahead of some heavy weights like Stronger The blogger really likes Adam's music. Two songs in this batch, one earlier #70+ and I think he wrote that there will be three more still to come in top 25.

irish1139, LindaG23, and seoulmateThanks for your comments about “Rocco Primavera” yesterday. Long before becoming that persona, I knew my uncle to be a serious, formally educated musician. Fred was the guitarist/vocalist of a successful alt rock band in the late sixties that abandoned him when he came out and began living as an openly gay man. He would have loved Adam Lambert. I often wish Fred had lived long enough to see him so we could have geeked out together over Adam’s talent and achievements. It would have been so fun! Seoulmate, I agree with your comment about the two backup girls being priceless. The New Jersey Nightingales were sisters, Tish and Snooky Bellomo. After being singers in Deborah Harry’s original Blondie lineup, the girls went on to found the Manic Panic hair color and cosmetics company. Now, of course, they are gazillionaires. Who knew? There’s a little homemade video on Manic Panic’s website of Rocco, the girls, and Joey Ramone (of The Ramones) bowling. It won't embed here, so you can try the direct link: Bowlingwww.manicpanic.com//mpgs/bowling.m4vWe are Family Foundation’s recognition and celebration of global diversity tomorrow makes me smile lots.
