I have viewed with dismay the reopening of old wounds in the fandom that the Aura thing has occasioned. This is really icky stuff. I have been pretty surprised at some of the strong charges and counter-charges being posted around. I thought I would just remind everyone that people can sue you for defamation if they can prove you damaged their reputation with false information, and you can be sued for libel if you distribute defamatory statements about someone in a public arena -- such as this one. Sometimes I think a lawsuit of this kind is only a matter of time in the Adam fandom. Great article on the subject here: Legal Guide for Bloggers: Online Defamation Law. There are good examples of what is libel or not. Just insulting someone is not libel, but accusing a person of criminal or unethical deeds certainly is, unless you have proof.

does someone know where those Adam' pics were taken last nite?!! What pics? I don't remember seeing anything taken last night - but there were a lot of pics in last night's thread... older pics. |

This is all a huge mess. A huge, ugly mess. I don't know what's going to happen. I do think that some parts of the Aura project sound very shady, but things are escalating in a manner that's a little bit scary. To make things even more complicated, Neil took a stand against Aura and backed one of those online blogs involved with the accusations. I wonder if Adam's management or Adam himself will have to intervene... |

I think the beautiful pic augenpoesie used is from Vietnam press conference (Jan 3, 2013). Adam-pictures usually have the dates and places with their post but as there is no link to the pic there you might start your search from Vietnam pics  Thank you belle!  |

wouldn't these people need to show that their real life reputations were damaged not just their online ones? Do these people promote and discuss their OTT fandom of Adam Lambert within their daily lives to the point that they are sharing this ridiculous claims with people who actually know them in the real world? Or, like I suspect, is this merely isolated withing the idol bubble and Adam fandom? I think it would be very difficult to prove a case of slander/libel for comments made about OTT fans within this fandom (or any other). |

My reply was actually for josyloosbr if she wants to find it - and more from the same occasion. For you regarding the source, I could say that it is a pro pic. There is certainly some extra info in atop recap and in atop pic thread but it might hard to figure out who originally took the pic. It was published on a vietnamese news site and on the site there might, or might not, be a mention of the origin - but with the ortography issue on top of all that it might be difficult. I don't know what is proper way with pics. At least it is not someone's personal pic originally, so in a way more public... |
