I needed to see this again because it's gorgeous! Both the subject matter & the execution. I'm so impressed with the many wonderful artists in this fandom. I'm an amateur water colorist so I really appreciate the talent! On the other hand - It's great that the Shenzhen Daily newspaper had printed that article but they used a photo from the Young Hollywood awards.

According to those that remember better than I do on twitter Adam's concerts during the May 2011 - May 2012 time period include Moscow, Montreal, Shanghai and maybe Austria. No album sales, none of his recent Asian gigs & NO QUEEN. So $1.5M? Not bad at all! Wait Til Next Year!!!! YUP. Doing 'nothing' includes in this case also things like: Behind the Music, Majors and Minors, a few hundred (so it seems) interviews, of which a few may have been paid for like the official idol finale appearances captured by Access Hollywood. Then a photo shoot in every second issue of INRock magazine + a few other fashion magazine appearances along the way, and judging Project Runway. There were also many other things Adam did of major public importance even if they did not get paid, like the whole It Gets Better Campaign. He continues to sell FYE album, Grammy album, singles, ringtones, placement of his music in TV and other media, and all that is just in the US. There is oversees revenue too. I am glad that Adam still has one of the original idol contracts and not one of these new ones that they have now. There is such a difference between Xfactor that throws 5 million USD at the winner plus a record contract, and idol that now seems to suck every penny out of these kids. Two extremes, both not right, imo. Glad, Adam is doing so fine, but he is doing so, because he is constantly busy, even while writing his album.

Glad, Adam is doing so fine, but he is doing so, because he is constantly busy, even while writing his album. Let's clarify: He made 1,5mill doing almost nothing COMPARED to this year. Of course he was working hard last year too. I, for one, didn't want to imply otherwise. ETA: lol The winking smiley disappeared... Let's try again:

Yep I know Adam was busy even when "just writing his album" , but what he did in "may2011 - may 2012" is nothing compared to "may 2012-may2013" !! btw , we forgot that he sang with Queen at the EMA's in November 2011 .

Q ~ maybe the Chinese Glamberts will put out the money and buy Trespassing. Don't we all love to spend money on Adam and his music? Just a thought........ Oh, I agree. That must be what Sony thinks. I just added the info about market size for perspective. But more important, Adam getting released in China is a big deal within the industry. Very few US Artists have album releases in China and usually it is just digital. And, as far as I can determine, Adam is the first Idol with a China release.
