This is the third time the Senate has passed the reauthorization. The hurdle is the House. In April 2012, the Senate voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, and the House subsequently passed its own measure ( omitting provisions of the Senate bill that would protect gay men, lesbians, American Indians living in reservations, and undocumented people who were victims of domestic violence). Reconciliation of the two bills was stalled by procedural measures, leaving the reauthorization in question. I do not see any sign that enough Republicans in the House will break ranks on this one. Watched most recent episode of Glee last night and found a lovely comparison that demonstrates again what we mean when we say Adam sings in 3D. Blaine sings Don't Stop me Now - he sings it perfectly nicely (he has a bit of help in a few places by other gleeks) but then I went and listened to Adam's Kiev (best audio) of same song (and ok he was singing with Queen which gives it a certain something LOL but talking about vocal) ... Not really news and can move to masterclass section if you like. I thought the same thing. Is there anyone who even sounds halfway as good as Adam? Here's Katy Perry and the Queen Extravaganza: I have been trying to give Marc Martel a fair shot, but I've watched several performances of his and he is not anywhere as good as Adam, IMO. Not sure why the Queen fans prefer him over Adam. I'm a Freddie and Queen fan first before I knew Adam. I prefer Adam over Martel. IMO, if some Queen/Freddie fans like Martel better, it's because he's nowhwere near Freddie voice or showmanship, so there's no threat to Freddie's legacy. IMO he's not himself on stage he's copying, so I guess it's easier to deal with a copy cat that someone like Adam who has his own identity, a very strong one. |

I listened to STAY again and I swear when Adam sings "hands in the air" his raspy voice makes my stomach tingle!!!

I was feeling a bit melancholy today because I was thinking about my assistant at work who lost her battle with breast cancer this past August. Seeing the Rock My Town videos tonight (still my favorite Adam performance) reminded me of happier times and it reminded me of the day I learned I won a ticket to that concert. She was so excited for me. I asked her to come with me but she had family plans and couldn't come. I invited her to come with me to the GNT concert in Staten Island and then I learned I won a meet & greet through Donors Choose before the concert. Again, she was so excited for me. She took the video of my meeting with Adam. The reason I'm telling you this is because I just wanted to share her reaction when he came into the restaurant. It brought a huge smile to my face. BTW, she loved the concert and screamed wildly and danced her ass off. I miss her.
