Hey guys looks like it was a fun show. Decent set list - Glad to see him bring back Dragon Attack... But how would the regular Queen fan react to Adam doing Dragon Attack all by his little self? A lot of singers cover Queen songs during their concert and I think Katy Perry's one of them. I don't see why it should be any different with Adam doing it in his own concert

And sorry Katy fans, but I thought her "Don't Stop Me Now" was horrible (or rather just highlighted how good Adam's version was).

It's so cute that Adam got a kick out off fans singing along to him and endid the song with them singing "Broken English"

Tickets were 119,000 won, US$110.36 Assuming some number of comp tickets, gross was around $200,000. The concert promoters bear the risk for this tour, and there is no way to figure out the guarantees and other revenue streams that Adam has for this tour. Needless to say, my guess is that Adam would not be doing this tour if he had any major financial risk, he would have just started to work on his next album and done a few casino shows in North America. ETA: Adam proved with GNT that he knows how to manage an international tour with small to mid-sized venues and make money. The Asian music/touring market, in general, is a bit different from the US and the majority of the western markets, which typically the performers don't get paid till after the fact with all receipts counted. I don't have the specific knowledge when it comes to South Korea and some other Asian countries, so I'll share what I know about China, and use Shanghai concert as an example. Typically, the Chinese performers & int'l alike get paid right after the contract is signed, which is way before the concert takes place; however, most of them only get paid for half of the contracted amount at that time and the other half after the fact, Adam is one of the exceptions --- he got paid in full already! The contracted amount is based on projected concert ticket sales and other possible revenue streams that might be able to pull in, even so, as Q3 pointed out the promoters bear the financial risk for the concert. The Shanghai concert is selling well and Hennessy even paid the promoter AEG China to get their name attached to the concert (no, it doesn't mean it becomes a Hennessy event, just mean Hennessy got a piece of ad). But not all concerts work out in the promoter's favor. A few years back before Adam Levine's Voice fame, Maroon 5 had their first concert in Shanghai at the same arena and it was configured for 3000 seats, tickets sales were very underwhelming, and the same thing happened to JLo last year when she had her concert at Mercedes-Benz arena (but her concert was configured for 10,000). The most screwed up concert on this little tour is Sky Dome, Philippines. It went from a stadium to a 1500 seat venue, and 3 different promoters... the politics of the Philippines touring market is notorious. Some Chinese tour promoters even suspected awhile back there might not be a concert there. Nikki is the Chinese glambert whom @alidol gets her pics and vids from, mostly. She'll be attending 4 other Asian cities concerts as well so we shouldn't have any shortage of youku vids and pics. Lucky girl! WHAT A GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF THIS GLAMILY TOUR!!! ADAM SOUNDED AND LOOKED AMAZING!!!! Thank you, maddie! It is my understanding as well (from speaking to a friend engaged in the music artist management business) that the Asian performing markets are extremely generous as compared to the pay for the US/EU concerts. The streams other than the ticket sales are involved and that explains the large $$$ paid to the artists.

That is so fabulous for Tommy. I loved the Stay and Underneath performances too. I did, however, get distracted yet again by Brian's pedantic playing. For both songs he played chords in a plunk, plunk, plunk way. No imagination whatsoever. Any piano student could play that. I have growled about this before on other performances, so I should stop. I just wish he'd use some creativity. The piano playing does not complement Adam's vocals at all. It just plods along.
