Check in time is Tuesday now? That's fine with me, 'cuz lost 1 lb since Sunday. So 5 lbs to go to reach my total 6 lbs goal.
Thanks to you all, I've never been so determined to lose weight.

Hi! Jablea saw your post in the news thread that we're all set up again here at our new home. Thanks for doing this. Well.....I have to admit I kind of lost my momentum :( and I haven't lost more pounds but, at least, I haven't gained since the +pound I gained back two weeks ago. So I'm trying to remember...I think I had lost 6 lbs., had gained 1 lb., so I'm now at -5 lbs total. I have to start getting serious with my home exercise equipment. I'm definitely not getting any younger and I really need to stay healthy because I am the only one here to take care my family...they all look to me to take care of things. And I just feel so much better all around when I'm in better shape. Lot's more 'positive energy'....I'm just a happier person when I'm at a lighter weight. First, I need to start drinking again my 40 oz a day of water. It helps fill you up, hydrates you, gives you better looking skin, and is a big help to weight loss! Have a great day everybody.

Okay, I'm gonna go for -6 lbs in 6 weeks. I swear I'll do better this time!!!! Trying to not diet but just make some permanent changes in the way I eat. Slower this way but hopefully, some long-term changes to keep it off.

Okay...I checked in with a one pound loss on Sunday, so I'm just acknowledging that I'll continue with our shape-up plan, and weigh in on Tuesdays now.
Progress to date is -6 and I'm trying to maintain a 1/2 to 1 lb per week loss.
This thread is so helpful...knowing that I have to weigh in keeps me on track.
....AND my new treadmill is being delivered on Saturday, so I'm excited about THAT!

Thursday
Topic: Asparagus
Hey all. Getting back on track here with daily topics. Glad everyone's looking forward to our continued success. Lol about being the only RL thread.
Here is my best and easiest (not to mention my only) recipe for preparing it so that I'll eat it.
I bought some to grow in the garden but I don't think I have a great permanent place for it. But with this recipe everyone likes it and it fits my motto for something that can be fixed at the very last minute.

Jablea, thanks for keeping this thread going. Asparagus is one of my favorite veggies and I usually roast them in olive oil with sliced onions, minced garlic, and s&p.

Ok, I'm not a cook here, so roast them means put everything in my loaf pan and stick it in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes? The oven scares me for everything but cookies lol.

I am not a cook either really. I usually set to 375 and cook for around 15 minutes--I just eyeball them. Everyone likes their veggies at a different level of "done," so just wing it. You really can't go wrong. It's always a favorite when I serve for guests. This is no way lo-cal, but this is my favorite meal: Roasted asparagus Roasted beef tenderloin (with horseradish dill dipping sauce) Linguini tossed with olive oil, tomato, basil, garlic, and Brie, s&p Crusty loaf of bread (with butter My husband and I have a birthday this weekend and we were planning on going out to dinner, but I think we just might make this and celebrate at home!

Geez....I'm boring. I never do anything fancy with aspargus - just steam it.
I do like it plain, but I suppose I could jazz it up a tad. ;D

Hi everyone. Glad you started a new thread at our new home. I read above someone suggested starting a recipe thread. Great idea. That way everyone would not have to read the whole thread when looking for new recipes.
We could even post a recipe here in the general discussion of things, and post a copy in the recipe thread. I would be willing to keep an index on the first page, if we get a lot of recipes - name of recipe, what page it's on, who posted it.
Let me know and I'll ask Q3.
