I love Josh Groban! He has a beautiful classically trained voice, but lower than Adam's. I wish they would do a duet! Josh has NEVER had a single rank higher than 70 in the Billboard Hot 100, although he has had 5 #1's in the Hot Adult Contemporary. (See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Groban_discography) But his first 5 albums have sold a total of 21 million. (He just released is 6th studio album this month.) And he is only artist with TWO albums in the top 25 best selling albums of the past decade per a Yahoo Music article from March 16, 2012 article ( music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart-watch/chart-watch-extra-top-albums-last-10-years-181452729.html). If the "past 10 years" had been 2001 to 2010 instead of 2002-2011, I think he would have had THREE albums in this list. So how does this relate to Adam. Well, it just goes to show that you don't have to have Hot 100 hits to be a top selling artist!! So, the question is, how did Josh Groban become such a top selling artist without radio play? Not sure, but I think his first big break was a PBS concert special. I think Josh falls into the category of performers who have a great voice and are SAFE from any POV, their music is accessible, easy and pleasant, their albums are a perfect gift to any family member...others in this category IMO are Andrea Bocelli, Susan Boyle, Adele (I heard only two songs by her, so my impression is limited), Buble ... AMAZING pictures in that Chester FB collection soulmate posted!!! You can see how well choreographed the whole show is!!! The symmetry on the stage is pure perfection! Nica good points.. Seems there is a market for diversity in pop , with or without radio..YAY |

Great pictures from Japan and the videos have been fantastic too. So glad Adam is having an amazing run on this mini tour!
Regarding the discussion about Josh Groban and why he doesn't need radio to sell, he caters to an entirely different audience than Adam is aiming for. Adam wants to do POP music and to be successful with pop music you need RADIO, not television. Yes, exposure on television can and obviously does help remind people how great Adam is but for the kind of impact and success that Adam wants to achieve he needs radio to pick up his music and not HOT AC radio but rather Top 40 radio and unless and until that happens Adam will be a second tier artist who hasn't reached his full potential.
Josh Groban's first big break came on an episode of Ally McBeal in 2001.
