Well, JanuarySnow...THAT is beautiful! This is not as poetic as Pooh's philosophy, by any means...but this article is still one of my favorites ever. I refer to it frequently myself. See "Detached Attachment" www.cnn.com/2011/LIVING/06/22/family.love.o/index.html?hpt=li_c2ETA: JFC, Stardust THAT song is even more of a killer! I love their lyrics, but they are definitely ~angsty to the max! (kinda like life is sometimes, though, so there ya be.) I just hope Adam is dipping his toes in the ocean at Malibu with them today, havin' some fun!

That "current boyfriend" reference was not new, recent or rare. I would read nothing into it.
He referred to Sauli as "current boyfriend" January 2012:
From March 2, 2012 Fault Magazine:
From Nov 28, 2012 (New Zealand):
I found over 20 occasions in interviews where he said this -- and I did not look hard.
Neither Adam or Sauli ever said this was a permanent relationship. Adam was asked if they planned to get married on many occasions and always said no politely.

I am sorry for any sadness surrounding this break up for Adam. I, as I think most do, wish for him great, requited, and lasting love at the right time in his life, and the key to keeping it.
I have loved Sauli as Adam's sweet boyfriend. He will be a hard act to follow.
I hate breakups. They hurt no matter what. One way or another, heart pain sucks big.
Sending love to Adamtopians. I've missed you all!

Thank you everyone for expressing your thoughts and feelings about Adam and Sauli ending their relationship. Your posts have mostly mirrored my own musings and it’s good to know that others’ feel the same. Just to lend a little support to one or two posters, I have to say that personally I was a little disappointed in the words that Adam chose – “on it’s way out” and “run it’s course” – somehow don’t sit right with me. We all know that Adam has a wonderful command of the English language and I feel that a little more finesse, warmth or respect for Sauli could have been used. Maybe those phrases are more acceptable today than I realise, or maybe Adam was exhibiting some bravado when talking about such a personal subject, I don’t know…. but I can understand why the announcement upset a few posters because of the ‘tone’ of the quotes from Adam. Interesting. I wasn't think about it earlier but now I must say that I'm trying to put myself in Adam's place and it's terrible feeling. You must say to entire world something you don't want to talk about at all. And world expected you will say every detail, and you know you can't and you don't want, and then you know that they will speculating, all those strangers about you and someone dear to you. This is depressing really.

January Snow - such lovely quotes and thoughts.
May I add one more from A.A. Milne?
Piglet sided up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing" said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."
With a sigh that reflects heartbreak I've known, I have nothing to add to any comment made these past two days. All have begun from the heart. I'm not sad. I just want to be sure of you.

Alana, nice post and I get what you're saying...Adam can be quite articulate when he WANTS to--but IMO, he had to use those cool, generic cliches...I mean, what else could he have said? I am more than willing to let HIM choose how to say something that really is private and that we don't have a clue about. It's enough for me that he addressed it in any way, in any words, because he simply does NOT have to. Adam is a good guy, I give him the benefit of the doubt. Sauli is no weakling. He is STRONG. You'd have to be to move to a new country, not knowing the language/having close friends here. Remember, for all we know, the whole split could've been instigated by Sauli. We know nothing. I am in awe of Sauli for taking the plunge to start a life here 2 years ago, and I don't for one minute think HOW Adam announces the split makes a difference. Adam still has not disappointed me--ever. And it goes without saying, I'm always in awe of him!
Thanks hoopla1. You are right, those phrases are generic clichés and therefore come across as casual and off-hand. Adam has the right to keep the distance it creates.
I know that Adam is a good guy, I have experienced it first hand. How he announced the split does not alter my regard for him, it just pains me that he had to.

This looks similar to some of the same things that were said after the Finland incident -- at that time Sauli's friends said Adam was very/too jealous and possessive of Sauli. I think that this is possibly true and the difference between very & too can be in the eye of the beholder. There is at least one error in the article -- " A couple of weeks ago, Adam concerts in Finland, and immediately reached wonder why the couple flew back to the U.S. on different machines."
But Adam went to Austria for some Life Ball promo work not the US. Sauli had to get back to LA to start work on his TV show.
I guess this is a tabloid and I know it's google translated but I hope this isn't the beginning of negative press against Adam because of the breakup. Certain US and European sites could very well pick up from this and run with it. Cause that's what tabloids do. I'm not so sure about Adam's jealousy and possessiveness. After all he didn't seem to worry when they were apart for long periods of time during his international and domestic travels. As for the Helsinki "incident" we don't really know the true story of what happened other than they were both drinking too much. I certainly wouldn't hang my hat completely on what Sauli's friends said.

Thank you for clarifying "the tweet". My twitter was down, "not the site you were looking for"/security error ( I hate when that happens) It's so weird here. There are some who point out that there is meaning in what Adam says and tweets and sings "it's never random" and then there is hey it's just a song he likes, "it ain't that deep", don't take it serious. I honestly don't know what to think about anything and maybe I should just ruminate on my on thoughts privately. Sorry for taking up space.
