Hoping for a spike in his twitter followers again! So Pop That Lock on Talk 80 tomorrow! Pat H @pattihum 4m @glam_alidol Do you think we might get a full video because the stream buffered really badly for many of us. :( alidol @glam_alidol 3m @pattihum yes ,will I think the Chinese mostly cannot use twitter so I don't expect any spike from there (if that's what you meant). But the performance and interview were great exposure for him in China. Wonderful singing and friendly, polite talking with a smile. He is also the Idol ambassador there featured in Chidol promo both with his S8 performance clips and more recent special clips filmed in China - very cute! Oh heck I knew that, just forgot! Still a big WIN for him - Mr International Superstar!

Someone needs to help me out with the Mariah lip-synching issue. I wasn't really watching her performance when it broadcast. I've watched the video now and I'm not seeing lip-synching. Am I blind and deaf? Is this the same thing people saw on tv? I'm losing my confidence because everyone (including Lyndsay Parker) was talking about it. (waves frantically) I would like a little help too! Hubby and I were watching on TV together over dinner, could not see any signs of lip-synching.... Well, her hand-waving got a little distracting later, but if someone could highlight what we're missing, I'd be very grateful. The explanation that makes the most sense to me is this. They taped three versions of her singing the number. This we know. Then the production team spliced together shots from each version to get what aired on TV. They probably did what the fans do with Adam videos sometime. Select the best audio, and then match it to the video. But since she sang it slightly differently each time, the audio would not always totally match up. I think that is the explanation from the Mariah camp. Yes, she sang live. The disconnect was due to editing. It does sound live to me, but, hey, what do I know. ETA: My biggest complaint about this performance was that she looked like a Barbie doll stuck on a stand for display. There was NO movement except the arms because the dress was so confining, I guess. She might as well have just had a still photo of her in the dress and audio of her singing. Boring! My next biggest complaint was the arrangement: disjointed and not artistic in the slightest. Let's just mash together a bunch of hits. My final complaint? I hate that whistle register of hers. IMO, that is just a "trick", not real singing. It sounds like a dog whistle. Okay, I will shut up now.

But Cassie, I think it isn't the same at all, because when fans select the best audio, it just means the best recording from the best camera around, but Adam had only one take! Here, Maria had 3 takes, and they could edit the best of all three together, kind of like what you do in a studio recording, couldn't they? ETA As for Chinese Idol, Adam sang like an angel, and had the face to match. I don't understand how someone can look so beautiful.

Maybe it is more difficult to synch up three audios than three videos? Yes, it can be done, IS done all the time in the studio. But, Idol is under a time crunch. Short cut? No one will notice? hahaha
