Kellie Pickler WON DWTS!!!! Thank goodness. I have been voting for her all season. She really deserved it after her freestyle. Best dance I've ever seen on the show.

Ok, my thoughts on why Adam should be an AI judge, though not well developed because I am conflicted about the whole thing: 1. Image. I have always thought what Adam needs most is help with his image. So many misinterpretations of who he is. Some think he is too racy (knowing only AMAs). Some think he is just that weird guy who wears tons of makeup. Some think he isn't deserving due to rising from a reality tv show. Some think he isn't relevant in todays music world. Some see only his sexuality. Some have no idea he is still producing music. Some are just confused by who exactly he is. Judging would erase all that. People would see the smart, caring, classy, bad ass and dork all wrapped in one, knowledgeable, easy going, much more than gay, hip, person he REALLY is. I read almost all the comments on the AI titanium youtube, focusing in on the nonglamberts. The most common compliment was how generous and classy he was in the duet. More to the story and these people are calling him classy- probably the same people who were sure he was trashy a few yrs ago. People already know he can SING. But it would be nice for them to know Adam the person and the artist, and then I think he would get more respect. 2. Magic. Once he is in he owns your heart. No, I don't believe in magic but seriously, what is it that takes ahold of you? Even my 10 yr old has become obsessed, like it is a need in her to listen to his music. Is anyone a casual fan, anyone whose been exposed to more than AI and WWFM? Is it possible? Think of all the people who will check him out on youtube and fall deep in the rabbit hole. 3. Deja vu. Just like the first time, if he wants to be fast tracked to fame, AI may be the easiest route. He is already branded by them. There is not a lot to loose. Unfortunately, after era 2, I believe the odds for standing with Idol are better than standing alone. 4. He's thought it through. I trust Adam to know what direction to go more than me. No matter how much we all like to armchair quarterback, he knows best. He is smart. Really smart. He always seems to know the right way to go. I will follow, not try to lead-even if it is down roads I am afraid to take. Oh, my exact thoughts!!!! Beautifully said, Kay. I've been thinking about this question, why Adam would be a good judge, and I wanted to rephrase it, to ask myself why Adam thinks he would be a good judge, or, more specifically, why Adam wants so much to be the judge, why he thinks it would be good for him, which he obviously does. He has his reasons and I believe you have successfully pinpointed the most important ones:)))

This is a dead thread, right... so I am going to say this here because I need to say it.
One of my colleagues, who is young, who wears hipster clothes and whom I always regarded as open minded and liberal, has told me that she does not teach W. H. Auden's "Funeral Blues" to her students, although it is part of the curriculum, because Auden was gay!!!
To think that she denies the students access to this beautiful poem, or Auden in general, or art in general, because of her own bigotry, makes me sick to my stomach. So sick.

Sorry to hear of an educator, of all people, who are denying kids exposure due to ignorant bigotry. But have faith in the next generation. They are going to find there own way and make this world better. Count on it. Came on to respond to your comment about why Adam thinks AI would be good for him. See that's what it is about. Not "Adam wants it". The question is why. This is not just a hobby or fun for him. He is a self-proclaimed overthinker. Just like before, he has weighed his options, the pros and cons, and decided. He knows them all too well, and he still is very enthusiastic about judging. I gotta go with that.

Right!!! He has always been and is going to be a few steps ahead of us:) He knows what he is doing:))) If it's not what's best for him, it most certainly is what he loves best. Either/or. Or both! I think in AI judgeship case, it is both.
I wonder if my colleague skips Shakespeare's sonnets as well. Or Wilde's Dorian. They are also in the curriculum.

It would be a sad world without the works of many great gay musicians, authors, poets, artists, etc. Imagine all the classical music I'd miss out on if I didn't perform anything written by an LGBT person.
