Hey Kamar! Congratulations on making it past your exams! I finished my term last week, and it feels great! Thanks for your positivity, too -- it's appreciated!
I am currently using my week off between terms to watch Adam, clean, work, watch Adam ... you get the picture!

His lavishly bejeweled Ali Baba look is a result of hours and hours (and hours) of meticulous work of Marco Marco.  Adam, who styled himself for the event, walked the Life Ball magenta carpet in semi-sheer collarless shirt, teamed with glossy, silk blend Mugler stand-up collar jacket, and Les Hommes SS10 harem pants. Featuring front patch pockets, concealed button fastening and high-low hem detail, Adam’s structured jacket is available at Farfetch. So many accolades above from writers who appreciate Adam's talent as much as we do, but as others have similarly mentioned, the line in the Billboard article about Trespassing and Kickin In being "megahits in a fairer pop universe" made me sad. Sometimes I wonder which is a tougher battle for superstardom for Adam, the fact that he is gay or the fact that he was on AI. The female AI alumni seem to have had a little easier time gaining widespread mainstream acceptance. In fact, although Kelly, Carrie and Jennifer were everywhere on the Grammys the last few years, I can't think of another man from Idol who is a household name. Its a double edged sword. Adam has himself said many times that without Idol he would never have been given a record deal because of his sexuality. Unfortunately, in an industry where vocal talent should matter above all else, it often doesn't matter very much at all. This pisses me off, but at least I can say that although they're also not related to his voice, his good looks and charisma have been good for his career! , it seems to me that the answer is BOTH and it depends on the audience: for those who embrace AI (south, country music lovers, etc..) the GAY thing is the deterrent and for the "cool"crowd ( that would not care of the orientation) the AI is a default disqualification. All gross generalization of course... Kamar - congrats with your freedom! I am going to try and get on your optimistic train ![]() |
