Idol Finalist Adam Lambert Gets Serious On The Afternoon News

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – It’s Pride Week in Pittsburgh.

The Delta Foundation has been working hard to make sure the City of Pittsburgh has a week to remember. Events include parades, bar crawls and a concert by American Idol finalist, Adam Lambert.

Lambert took time out of his day to talk with KDKA Radio’s Joe DeStio about the LGBT community and what it means to him to be a voice for them.

Some of Lambert’s concerts and appearances around the world have been protested due to his views.

When DeStio asked him how that affected him, Lambert offered a little secret, “Just between me and you, I think it’s a little bit fun.”

Lambert goes on to say he wants to live his life how he wants to and not worry about what other people think.

Lambert will be headlining the “Pride in the Street Festival” on Saturday. Tickets are on sale now, as well as at the door.

In advance of his performance at Pittsburg Pride next week, Adam Lambert took time today (June 11) to speak with Pittsburg NewsRadio 1020 KDKA about his active LGBT advocacy. He explained that despite possible career risks of LGBT advocacy, he wants to be able to look back in 15 years without regret. “Ultimately that integrity is a thing that is more important than the immediate sales .” Listen to the full interview in the video box below.



Adam shared that he is touched by his fans, who have not only been inspired to be charitable and support important causes, but have also formed their own community. Adam shared, “People want to feel like they belong to something, people want to be part of a movement, or a like-minded discussion or whatever, and I know that my fans are able to do that with each other. And to be able to facilitate that is awesome.” There is no doubt that Adam has facilitated a huge community of giving. His fans, the “Glamberts,” are like a family and drive each other to be active for the gays rights cause. They support Adam and attend ceremonies when he receives advocacy awards, such as the recent “Hope of Los Angeles” award and GLAAD Davidson/Valentini Award . Likewise, they donate to LGBT charities and support campaigns such as anti-bullying.

Sad about Russia is also that it seems legal there, as shown in our news, that a lot of people weren't even there for the voting in the Duma and their colleages were going around to each place and punched the voting button.(as we now Know, it was for NO chance for Gay)
I wasn't fast enough to tape the News where they can be seen going around but maybe another Glambert has seen also.

So f......g sad, i have a good friend at work, who immigrated here from East Russia with his Family when he was around 8 years old, he came out 3 years ago after living in Germany for Twenty Years and since then his family has not spoken to him again, none of them not even his three siblings. Luckily he went 300 kilometers away from them and he is living here with his fiance.
I just can't find a smiley that shows how i feel about the pain and hate our poor brothers and sisters have to endure in Russia and sadly also elsewhere in our World.
