So it looks like Adam only planned a one hour concert. I could see where people might be upset, since Pitts Pride advertised his gig as 90 minutes. And Adam has played plenty of 90 minute sets. It was very confusing. I was even shocked when it was over and I was watching livestream. Very surprised he didn't even give a shout-out to Pride. It's a special event. Color me baffled. What he did sing was hot for sure. I only hope that Adam and the Pride organizers were on the same page about the setlist length. That's all. Hello, Miss Vivlite, how are you doing? ) You see what they're doing to me with the sexy gifs? Downright cruel, I'll say:) Gorgeous specimen of a male abdomen, I absolutely have to say:))) I'm not surprised nor baffled. As for the length of the concert, acc. to the set list, it was as long as planned. Re the lack of extensive banter or a Pride shout out: ~maybe he didn't feel like it ~maybe he had to rush ~maybe he thought the audience was too drunk or too horny would not appreciate it ~maybe he gives his speeches only in City Halls from now on:) Great speeches, at that!!! ~maybe he felt that, what with the dick shots and naked bodies in the audience, fun and sexy times would be enough:) ~maybe he left it for the end of the gig, but then he managed to establish a non-verbal deal with the two boys he had been eyeing on the left and had to cut it short due to the pressing matters... ~maybe he wanted to stay consistent to his recently established 'silent, mysterious' ways, maybe he is sick of talking, maybe he wasn't inspired, maybe he wants to keep us guessing, maybe he forgot, maybe, maybe.... It doesn't really matter. He is the guy who will always go for the less obvious, for the unexpected. Hence the amazing and sexy Dragon Attack, not the boring WATC... Because HE LIKES it that way:))) Anyways, about that abdomen... uywoeggggggsriollopioy!#^&*(*&^%!!!!!!!!! Cheers! It was threatening to rain. Already had a few drops. Barely any time between end of show & encore. But the rain never really came.

Recap:Pittsburgh Pride. After seeing a few other Glamberts when Babs12 and I picked up sandysva and dancygeorgia at the airport late Fri-early Mon am, we tackled the traffic in the burgh and got them delivered to the Doubletree, tired, but safe and sound. Saturday we met them at the glamBash, which a glambert from the area named Laurie spent hours planning, including baking about six different kinds of cookies, to add to the hotel's excellent stuffed peppers, pirogues, salads, pulled park, and a pride cake with batter of all different colors and nice decorations. I saw a woman from San Francisco who is ovationimpact on Twitter that we had spotted at the airport--the blue hairstreaks were a fun sign of a true glam spirit.
The luncheon auction was well organized and the event was quite well attended. Dancy took off to meet theosgma in line, and the rest of us waited for me to hear from, Jeannie, Mayumi's niece, who was to join us to get her ticket. Jeannie and I had met at a dinner that Mayumi and Rene hosted locally last year. She was a glamVirgin! No more. She rocked out and had a good time. She hung with Babs (they had met at Rene's funeral), and sandy and I once we all got thru the line, went to locate a place to sit since we had discovered that the promised seating area in the premium tickets, gave us a corral to stand in. We found a pizza shop right on Liberty Ave with a view of the stage. Q3 and her husband passed by as did the TALC ladies and many other people that knew sandy; it was also a great place to people watch.
The crowd was 30% Glamberts and lots of locals, many who had come to see Sharon Needles, because she is a local from a Piitsburgh suburb. Sharon was well received as she had a big local following before drag race win. Joe was adorable, talented, and sandy who has seen many an Adam show, thinks he was the best opener ever for Adam. He faced an uphill challenge--the Glamberts and some of the locals were supportive, but after some upbeat numbers (including Don't Stop Believing) he lost the crowd with slower songs, a couple of which didn't suit the venue/audience. He is a very energetic dancer and "sang good". (thought of nica and Holst when Joe did a credible version of Nessum dorme)
The sprinkles caused last minute 3 stooges type erection of a portable canopy over sound equipment. We could see Adam was ready to go on at least 15-20 min before he was allowed to go on. We also were "treated" to a parade of mayoral candidates and others who felt compelled to speechify a bit. Since our feet were numb from standing for so long, the crowd was also ready for Adam.
He was great. He was high energy and really limited his banter. So many before him had focused on gay pride, and because his radio interview had been so serious, he was out to show the burgh a good time. There were many details that the show and event organizers were less than clear on, but Adam performed his entire set list. He just messed up the order of Fever and Shady. He was endearing in discussing his goof, but Brian and the band adjusted well. As momtomany noted earlier we thought that Adam missed interacting with the dancers (no room) and his mind seemed focused forward. He gave his all--hit all three eyes baby eyes high 3 times. He had also observed how Joe lost the crowd with slow songs, his upbeat set list really suited the mood.
Babs12 and I met Scotia for lunch today, and as a long time burgher, she confirmed that he is a fault-finder. Personal observation-- the younger LGBT community is relating well to Adam, based on the guys we observed and talked to; middle aged and older, not so much. Many locals we spoke with still associate Adam with Mad World. The entire crowd responded very well to WWFM.
There were many smokers, which was odd. There were many young guys on the left side of the stage--we met a young man from Philly at the Glam Bash who absolutely adores Adam. He came with the woman who brought the bananas.
Adam was very high energy, but his banter suffered from time constraints and (my projection) skittishness about offending parts of the wide spectrum of LGBT community represented. I think his very presence spoke volumes more than any speech. The guys around us said they felt the same.
After a wonderful late night supper at the Westin, we ended the day, tired, but very satisfied seeing Adam again. He seems confident and happy.
