I'm bored, too. But I only have myself to blame. I have been so consumed with Adam that it has nudged out other things. Today, I actually went to the library. You know, that place with books in it that you can borrow for free?  My records showed I hadn't visited since 2009. Hmmm, 2009 = discovering Adam and falling down a very deep rabbit hole. 

While I wait for Glee, Queenbert, A3 or whatever else is on the horizon, I may actually read a book. Turns out they have this new-fangled thing where I can "borrow" a book via Kindle and don't even have to go to the library. Who knew? Wonder what else has happened while I was Adam watching. 

I think everyone is a bit down with the avicci #truereveal thing.  He did it backwards, should have revealed the single last and the album cover first but then how would you build up the sound?

I agree with Q3, this #truereveal would have been a disaster if LMD had been the single.  I can't find a way to turn off the sound on the truereveal site so you can't listen to anything else and peeps were tweeting they were tired of listening to it after the first hour.  I wonder what the expectation was?  To reveal all the tweets at the pace they are showing them does seem to indicate they expected days and it's only at a total of 40,000 tweets now.  I think maybe marketing people got a hold of it and decided they could turn #truereveal into #followfriday or #throwbackthursday which is a "long" process.  But all the countdown, the dead of night/morning, the single leak, etc has all soured the milk and glamberts especially, who were well represented during the morning hour seem to be reacting.  Maybe it's just lack of sleep.

Cassie, I think your idea of catching up on those things we used to do pre-Adam is good, and lol about not being to the library post-Adam.

If I get bored, it's not because of Adam it's because there is no conversation happening on the board.  2 posts an hour type of thing.  Ah, maybe it's a chance for us quiet ones to dominate .............. ya well it was an idea

First, Congrats Q3 on your RL success!!!!

Now about Adam and fandom and perhaps boredom
Last Fall I did some soul searching about being a fan, what it means to me, and how "plugged in" I should be. The being a fan decision was easy, I'm in and in it for the long haul. That said though, I decided to cut back on the time spent on being a fan and spend that time doing other things I liked to do prior to Adam and spending more time with my RL friends and family. If something "big" breaks on the Adam front I don't need to know about it in real time, I know where I can go to do some late flailing. Having other things to occupy my time makes the waiting for whatever is coming Adam's way easy for me. Once I knew that my commitment to being a fan was not going to burn itself out I knew it wasn't going to be healthy for me to be in an all "all Adam all the time" mode. I'm happy with my choices, for me it is the best of both worlds.

ETA I've been reading like a fiend and some of the books came from the book thread here. If any of you have any book recommendations I would love to have you post them there. We have a recipe thread too, might be fun to get those threads up and running again, just a thought

I have been working on some research for about 2-1/2 years that was a bit off-of-center (that is not mainstream). There have been many times when I just wanted to quit and be "normal".

I just get official support from not only the highest level of my University but also another major University that is located about 20 miles away and is working in similar areas. It is a big deal. Not just support for the research project but support for me!

In the tough times, looking at what Adam and more importantly Adam fans are capable of has been part of my inspiration to just do it and not worry about what people think, or what credentials I lack, or what I do not know, or so many other reasons to just go back to doing what I know how to do -- and be normal!

Adding my congratulations and admiration!  You are an inspiration and a paradigm of competence.  So hard for others outside this group to understand the bonds of Atop.  So many amazing people with incredible talents and fascinating personalities!

RCA and Adam split up was something he knew about long before we did and was clearly in the works for months. And financially, Adam came out on the good side of that deal because he got the big Idol contract advance for Trespassing.

Balance that out with what has happened in the past year -- getting recognition from the gay community, the successful entry into China, getting a real acting part in Glee, getting to collaborate with anyone he wants to including Avicii, being a headliner at the most important music festival in the world, etc.

I've mentioned this last month or couple months ago. If only fans wanted to remember and compare the waiting of Trespassing and now. After GNT during 2011 we rarely.. I meant rarely seeing Adam, that's when the term WITWIAFL (Where in The World is Adam F Lambert) is created, just because we could go by a month without any news of Adam. 2013, We got a lot and lots of Adam, and I guess it's still not enough .
What we need to do is go to Atop calendar and compare 2011 & 2013, that's not even including all the paparazi pictures of Adam going out at night with friends.

I think Adam is moving toward his goals. I think there are some fans who are not happy because they measure Adam's success by being bigger than Katy and Gaga/or within the Idol Bubble Carrie and Kelly. Well, that does not appear to be Adam's plan nor has he said that is what he wants.

I think these fans really need a lot of reality check, they need to compare Adam's number and these 4 Divas numbers; numbers of #1 hit singles, number of singles sold, numbers of album sold, numbers of Platinum albums, etc.

ETA: There is so much more to being a successful entertainer than broadcast radio. And no one can predict radio hits in advance (except that "Roar" is headed to the top of the chart.) Seriously, who would have picked Robin Thicke to have a global mega hit on his 15th single? Or that Daft Punk would go mainstream with "Get Lucky"?

Because of his voice and his talent, I think some fans want instant success for Adam. Understandable! But I think we also need to remember, that even Katy & Gaga didn't have this instant success.
