ETA: Here is the time scenario ---
1. Nile and Avicii are in LA in the studio working on a track -- they finish the first track and start to work on what became LMD. Avicii leaves.
2. Nile works on the track some more. Calls Prince who sends over his backup singers, King to record the back up vocals.
3. 10:00PM Nile has a song and calls Adam to record the lead vocal.
4. Adam is in bed, hung over. Nile tells him to get over to the studio, he needs him. Adam gets on the treadmill for a couple of hours then heads over to the recording studio. He sings the vocal and nails it in one take.
5. Avicii gets the track that Nile has designated as a hit in the morning.
The most important part of the interview is that Nile is right when he says this will be a hit for Adam and that Adam is in the perfect position -- he will have a hit song as an independent artist while his management is negotiating his new contract. Adam has a fairy

Avicii and Nile did not treat Adam as a session singer -- he is a featured artist and has composer credit.
I think Adam didn't just lay down the vocal for LMD he also wrote the lyrics and as per Adam's twit below, Adam didn't compose the song, so I think his credit is as a songwriter.
