Anxious for the new music, but Adam deserves some kind of chill out time, in order to transition on to his next phase. More videos please. TY Like his father, I hope he takes a week or so to lay on a beach and recharge.... Why do I think working on his album will be chill out time for Adam.. He's like the energizer bunny

Yep, thanks, dancygeorgia, that's the part I figured out. The Greek reference was just how I was perceiving it in my mind before I figured it out. I mightn't have been clear because I was so diligently studying the *red shirt* photos to make sure they were the same one. That tends to stupefy me a tad, that darn shirt has some sort of strong voodoo spell on me. Oh (slow again) maybe you thought the gif/jif thing was what I thought her user name was? That was intended to be an example of my misinterpretation of stuff I read and develop pronunciations and definitions for in my head, like I did with Theosgma's user name. Poorly worded, I see now how it reads is confusing. Woke up to find this charming post all about ME!!!!! Just to seal the deal, here is a recent picture of another major man in my life:

Chiming in on hearing aides and "getting old" -
First of all, wearing a hearing aide doesn't necessarily apply to the elderly only. I lost much of my hearing quite suddenly due to a virus over 10 years ago. After a period of recovery, I was able to drive again and go back to work. I also live in a multigenerational household with varying kid/teenager noise. I have chosen not to cave into my hearing loss, but continue to live my life to the fullest. And I guess I am considered "elderly" as I am over 70 - but I sure don't feel it - "elderly" to me means when you lose that curiosity and spark that makes life worthwhile. (BTW - I never thought of Joan Rivers as "elderly")
I appreciate reading Roger's comments on deafness, because one area that can be a challenge is in social situations as hearing aides don't filter out the various sounds. I wear a hearing aide that shows from the outside as I have a little switch where I can turn the volume up or down, and believe me, that helps in a house with teenagers. I don't care who knows I wear a hearing aide as people will need to know anyway, for example when dealing with bank tellers, I just need to let them know up front, and everything's fine. I don't feel sorry for myself, and I surely don't want others feeling sorry for me either - It is what it is, and I have chosen just to get on with life.
Now, for Adam. In spite of my hearing loss, Adam has the most pure, clear, ringing voice that I've ever heard. There is something about his voice that cuts right through my deafness into my very heart and soul. I call it his "angel voice". The first time I saw and heard him live was at Gridlock and I was utterly astounded. While I follow videos of his many performances, I need to hear him live to get the full effect of his magic - for example, most recently his first notes of "Now I'm Here" at QAL just caught in my heart, and I thought, "Yes, you are here!". At any concert, I need to sit back a bit - which means unfortunately I can't be as close as the thrust or the first row - but I need to get the full effect of his amazing voice as it fills an arena or wherever he is performing.
In closing, I want to quote Glamnut who said - "I will do whatever I have to do to make sure I can see and hear Adam!!" - Well, that's me too. Annala, I thought you might chime in on this. I have a friend who is in his 70s also and had some sort of virus/illness which robbed him of some of his ability to hear. He is a musician and now wears hearing aids. My dad's hearing aids are very high tech and do a good job of filtering extra sounds (such as eating out in a restaurant). A technician programs and tweaks them regularly. He and his wife make have spent a lot of money on hearing aids, including upgrading to the next generation of technology. They make it a priority in their budget--not wealthy either. I'm so glad that people have these options. As we age all of our senses get duller--our sense of taste changes, don't smell scents as strongly, need reading glasses. Why does age-related hearing loss carry such a stigma?? Don't know.
