Gee, guys. Everyone is waiting for my analysis of the inside of Adam's mouth.  ;)But I am afraid it is beyond my level of expertise. I've never looked inside my mouth or anyone else's while they are sustaining a high note with vibrato like that. I am as blown away as all of you. It certainly is a perfect example of what we have talked about. Adam has this resonance and sympathetic, harmonic vibration in his singing that is extraordinary. It looks as if everything in his body vibrates to produce that sound. How much of it is natural, how much is specific technique I am not sure. If I were to make my best guess, I would say the throat vibrations are natural and the tongue was conscious technique to enhance the vibrato. I have sent the vid to one of my much more knowledgeable friends, and will let you know if I get a more informed explanation. Cassie, first let me say I love your contributions! You will find this fascinating I am sure. Stan Lee has a show about Super Humans. I have only seen one episode, but it included Kenny Muhammad of New York is said to be one of the planet's greatest beat boxers. His unique ability to simultaneously produce and overlay multiple wind, string and percussion effects with just his voice and vocal tract has earned him the nickname of the "Human Orchestra." Inquiring minds want to know all about Adam's mouth vocal production. Angelina graciously responded and I think would be fine with my sharing her response with y'all. "I LOVE that Adam's showing us what goes on inside his mouth and upper throat like this - I'm sure he hasn't thought this through! Hahaha! Can you see the ridge in his tongue - all phenomenal natural singers have it! What you're seeing at the end is him "taking the michael," as we say here - he's manufacturing vibrato, but how fantastically strong are his muscles to be able to show it off so perfectly, don't you think?!!!" Remember, ladies and gentlemen, she is talking about his proficiency with SINGING.  At this point I'm sure nothing about the fanatIcism of his fans surprises him. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELKRASH ! |
