Long post here so scroll if you wish...I won't be offended...I won't even know unless you tell me!! ;D
I am rushing here as I have to get to work very soon. Still, I will try and give you just a bit of a recap of our epic dvd watching party hosted by the ubelievably amazing meliisende!!
Disclaimer: my laptop keyboard is as tired as I am, especially for some unknown reason, the lovely 'i' so it sometimes takes a break and hides its lovely self...apologies for anytme that happens....:-(
I left my home at about 11:40 am to drop my car off at the Long Harbour ferry terminal as that is the one I arrive at late tonight...a friend picked me up and took me to the Vesuvius terminal in tme for a 12:25 departure. Fiercelier picked me up at the Croften terminal and we drove to Nanaimo and the Departure Bay terminal to meet up with another friend and take the ferry to Horseshoe Bay, on the mainland and not far from Vancouver. Somehow, my friend was not at the terminal...or on the ferry so that part of the manouver was actually unnecessary...sadly.... I found out later that she got on the wrong ferry and just did a round trip....that is really too bad.
We got to the party place in good time and were immediately fed amazing 'martini's' in pink and green lit up [by choice, flashing or solid] martini glasses....so good...and so potent!! People were pouring in till there were around 21 of us....everyone was excited and open to seeing our Adam. There were wonderful hor d'oevres to keep us occupied and happy...along with those martinis ... until we were fed a fantastic supper of leg of lamb and chicken breasts that were to die for. Melisende had to slave over that stove for days...I don't even want to think how much time and $$ she sunk into this venture. But it was over the top successful in every way. codicil here....we did a wee bit of damage to some furniture in the host home so that needs a little mitigation.. :-(
You all know how amazing the dvd is, and on this amazing home audio system the voice just goes right to the heart and stomach.....several of us,....well mostly melisende and me...danced through the entire thing. In fact, between that and the milling about visiting earlier, and the Ikea trip the next day, my feet and ankles are nasty. Now I have to head to the shop and work on my feet, on a concrete floor for another 3 or 4 hours!! By tonight I am going to feel like I just survived a GA show!! Ahhhh....but so worth it....
I know we made a few conquests. One man had just started watching idol this year for the first time and was impressed by several of the kids on the show....even J...who shall remain nameless hahaha...I am not a hater..but not a lover either...so you can imagine how he felt about Adam's performance!!!! yeah.... There a few others that were really impressed...Melisende knows them so she will probably report on that!!
As usual, one of the very best parts is the opportunity to meet and/or reunite with other Atops. Melisende, Maria22pf, Fiercelier....so great to get together and rejoice in song. The whole experience was wonderful. I stayed with Melisende..met her really lovely mother...had such a great time.
Now I really am running late and have to really rush. Hugs to all. Loved watching BB's throat constrict!! haha

fiercelier... glad to hear you guys had a great time at Melisende's GNT viewing!! I think Melisende said there were going to be quite a few non-fans there, and I was wondering if they loved the GNT concert... did any of them turn into fans??  Hi Seoulmate! Too bad you weren't able to be there. There were only 4 of us from Topia, including Melisende, and the rest were all mostly non-fans or didn't really know Adam, or in one case, had been to one of the Vancouver shows and did not like him at all. (I know, hard to understand! LOL!) I don't know about everyone but for sure a couple of people were VERY impressed. Melisende can probably answer this more fully. At least they have now seen Glam Nation, and hopefully they will be open to seeing him live at least. However much we think "Adam is the best most fabulous singer and entertainer in the world!!!" you cannot force musical taste or reaction to a particular performer. Adam's voice often gives me shivers down my spine, but there are other beautiful voices that do nothing for me. It's SUCH a personal thing! Ack! I see MsZue just posted while I was writing this! Great recap and so great to travel with you MsZue! |

mszue Thanks for the recap....sounds like a fun time.....good food, good fellowship and Adam !!! Sounds like Melisende was a fantastic hostess ! Our get-togethers with the SE bunch + a few others are becoming highly anticipated events.... I can't wait for the next one !
