Most OT, but I just taught a writing class and gave the class one of my favorite poems to read, which I hadn't looked at in a while (I'm not remotely religious, but I find it a beautiful poem). Anyway, as we read it together I realized that from now on I'll always think of one thing while reading it: Somehow, that doesn't bother me. Sorry, it was just in my head as I came back from class, and I know you guys don't mind a random attack of pretty freckles... :D Oh, that's beautiful~ All of it, words & pics. |

It is so difficult to understand how singers with great voices AND charisma do not make it big while others with mediocre abilities do. Is it all LUCK and nothing else? A few days ago there was a discussion on this board re Le Miz with one of the Jonas brothers in it. I happened to have my TV on for that broadcast and I could not believe how inferior he sounded to everyone else on that stage. I though it was embarrassing...yet - he IS the star and the rest are "just" musical theater people - EVERY ONE of them having a great voice! They all could hear the difference and I can't even imagine how they must've felt playing the second fiddle ... I could not help but think of Adam, and how many times and years he must've felt the same way - playing a chorus boy to someone else... Thank god he risked the AI! It brings tears to my eyes... |
