Completely OT: I need to rent a tux for my DS for the HS prom, and I know nothing about tuxes. If you have any advise - please PM me. Thx Just go to a tux shop and they have a selection you can choose from and then get measured. He might want to ask the girl what color dress she is wearing, so he can match the cumberbun and bow tie or shirt to her dress. There is some pretty wild stuff out there for proms. When you rent a tux, you get pants, jacket, shirt, cumberbun, special buttons for the shirt and bow tie. Can also rent shoes. Fees are usually $45 to $100 depending on what you want.

You have a very nice figure, but your mind is in the gutter 8-)

It is so difficult to understand how singers with great voices AND charisma do not make it big while others with mediocre abilities do. Is it all LUCK and nothing else? A few days ago there was a discussion on this board re Le Miz with one of the Jonas brothers in it. I happened to have my TV on for that broadcast and I could not believe how inferior he sounded to everyone else on that stage. I though it was embarrassing...yet - he IS the star and the rest are "just" musical theater people - EVERY ONE of them having a great voice! They all could hear the difference and I can't even imagine how they must've felt playing the second fiddle ... I could not help but think of Adam, and how many times and years he must've felt the same way - playing a chorus boy to someone else... Thank god he risked the AI! It brings tears to my eyes... That was her father playing with her, who from what I can gather was a guitarist for Frank Sinatra.

Finally have a moment to post and was very happy to see that Fiercelier and MzSue have already given some of the details on of the Vancouver GlamNation DVD viewing dinner. I had asked a friend of mine - who has a very nice home in the most expensive part of Vancouver - whether we could hold the party there because my TV/DVD isn't hooked up to a decent sound system and is located in a room that seats at most six people. I had invited about 23 people (19 ended up coming - which is really good for Vancouver where I've had as many as half the guests cancel right before a dinner party) and it was a mix of Atopians, friends who I had persuaded to go to Adam’s Vancouver concert, and a couple of people who knew nothing about Adam (and have only watched this season of AI). The prep was complicated by the fact that food, dishes, & decorations had to be transported and it had to be done every day because I didn't have the fridge space to store the stuff that was done in advance. I also had to find and hook-up a 2nd DVD player that would actually play the “Encore Performance” DVD I had burned with additional special performances by Adam of songs that didn't make it onto the official DVD. Anyway it all came together and here are the only pictures I remembered to take of the Glowing Martini bar and the cupcakes. Blackberry Pom Glo-tinis and Manglo Martinis with edible glitter in neon glasses. Carrot Cake and Lemon Cream cupcakes. The dinner did turn out very well (if I say so myself) with Atopians contributing appetizers but there were a few little “accidents” that I knew weren’t going over very well with the homeowner - who is very fussy. Just to give an example, he cleaned the house for two days before the party (even though it's always spotless), and he was still cleaning this morning when I went by to pick up the last of the stuff! After dinner I herded everybody into the “theater room” and just as we were about to start there was another little accident that resulted in the splintering of an antique end table – completely accidentally . Well, “mein host” blew a gasket and chewed out the unfortunate guest - while the rest of us sat in mortified silence. Anyway, he fumed off to the kitchen to clean up and cool off (both of which took till this morning) and the rest of us started watching the video. The sound was good and I think most of put the incident behind us fairly quickly and enjoyed the show. Guest Reactions? My brother and his wife - who were disappointed and underwhelmed at the Red Robinson show – are still not fans. They think the voice is good but that Adam doesn't have "stage presence" and is “no Freddie Mercury or Mick Jagger”. Whatever. : My sister, who has never been an Adam fan, had to admit that she enjoyed the show a lot more than she expected. The couple who had never seen Adam (and he’s a well-known screen writer whose opinion I really respect) were completely blown away. He said Adam was one of the most extraordinary performers he has ever seen and blows away everybody in this season of AI - the first season they've ever watched. A couple of the guests left after the first few songs of the DVD and didn't bother coming back - which pissed me off because I'd made it clear to anyone coming to the dinner that you shouldn't bother coming if you didn't want to see the DVD. The rest of the group (some of who had been to a previous concert or where not really fans), all agreed that Adam puts on a great show and they’ll be buying tickets to any future shows he does in Vancouver. All in all we had a wonderful time and Adam fans are the best people in the world. I love meeting them & hanging out with them and wish we could do it more often – esp. my “sister from another mister” mariapf who is more fun than a greased barrel of monkeys.
