That said, as I recall, Adam definitely got one of the sweeter Idol contract deals (compared to what came afterwards). Someone like Q3 or mys*&@^#r probably know a lot more details about the various Idol contracts than I do, but I know the payout went down later and the overall conditions may have changed as well. THAT said, I don't know how much was due to the overall state of the Idol contracts of the time, or Adam's personal lawyers. I *do* recall hearing that Adam had a top-notch legal team, which I think he paid for out-of-pocket. I think the fact that a lot of the people who win Idol or come in runners up are very green and don't really understand the longer term implications of what they are signing. They are just so happy to be where they have landed. Adam had years in the business and people around him with experience dealing with those things (carmin for example) and was probably well prepared to get best deal he could for himself within the boundaries of the Idol machinery - because there is only so much wriggle room on those things and pretty sure they sign quite a bit away just by agreeing to be on the show. Coda - not an expert and have no insider knowledge just my own speculation which means massive salt lick accompanies this post.

Someone who has watched the NYE recording just asked me if those are his real eyes! I know I am late, but that is hilarious. His eyes were preternaturally vivid that night, so I understand the question. :D

Actually, not so rare! There are quite a few pics of Adam 100% off the floor! I am a collector of Adam pics off the floor. One of these quiet days, we can have a quiz. I am thinking maybe 2018.

Just received an email from Magazine Cafe that the copy of the Classic Rock magazine is processing but delayed due to the snowstorm that is expected to hit the NE later today. Hope I get it in good condition sometime soon. Ordered it weeks ago. I got the same message - good service that they let us know

I *do* recall hearing that Adam had a top-notch legal team, which I think he paid for out-of-pocket. Adam's contract was part of the Seasons 5-9 contracts and these were the best deals in Idol history. Phillip Phillips' contract had lower advances, higher commissions and fees, and lower royalty rates. Whatever happens to the case (and it is likely to be years of litigation) will have no effect on Adam. *** I believe Adam is the only Idol alumni who left 19 Recordings and 19 Management with 19 issuing a very positive press release and best of luck message. So glad he did not have to go through this.
