On the origin of Raisin Sauce -- it is certainly most prevalent in the US in Pennsylvania-Ohio-Viriginia but no one wants to take credit for it. (If you have ever been forced to eat it, you know why!) It is commonly found in Amish communities and some people believe it originated in Germany.
Wherever the origin, it has been in the US literally for centuries -- as far back as 1740's -- and I think that it may have been "invented" here.
Some people add rum and/or hard cider to make it better. They should just leave out the raisins, cornstarch and mustard -- and drink the rum.

Thanks to Cindy for the scan. @cindym421 USA weekend blurb on Adam: t.co/KWKX6Yh about 1 hour ago via Twitter for Android Yes, thank you Cindy!!! I can't imagine anyone's gaze not coming to a screeching halt when they come across that picture. Also, FYI: the person who wrote the question isn't living under a rock, she's a 17-year-old stan. I follow her. She's very sweet and did it to get them to write about Adam, I guess. Well, it worked. Wish USA Today would have checked their facts a little better, but oh well ... And we even have Prince Willy to contrast! ;D ;D ;D

I'm hoping the ice cream stand at the beach is open for alternative desserts. :D now to get back on topic: my 2,000,000 twitter prediction...I'll make it one year from now April 24, 2012 8:55am ETA: I grew up eating raisin pie! also, our school cafeteria served cooked raisins for a vegetable...

I occasionally see ham with a raisin sauce, but it's more of a sweet glaze – with a rum or brandy, butter and brown sugar, I think. It's good. I'm somewhat indifferent to raisins. I eat them, but don't love them.
I love that Peeps diorama too!! I vaguely remember when it was being made for a contest, but I can't remember who made it. So clever though!!
