This morninging the Netherlands on our radio station 3fm with the DJ Giel there was a band from Sven Hammond that did a cover of Ghost Town. Quite a rocky feel to it. I think I prefer the original though. Giel doesn't like the whistle apparently. He was however the first DJ to play GT on Dutch radio in the morning of the release. Translation: Wow. Something for Adam to try out? As a result GT is now back to #5 in iTunes though! It had dropped a bit to #8.  Very good and original cover but i also prefer Adams version much much more. Every artist who visits Giel is asked to do a cover from a song which is currently in the top 40. Nice to hear GT. And Giek saying "not that f*cking whistle in it" he sure doesn't like the whistle |

To have fans that already KNOW he cannot tour if the album is not successful is counter productive. It is a question that he cannot really answer in a way that translates positively in the interview. Having to continually say "I will tour IF..." just leaves a negative impression. Why continue to put him between a rock and a hard place? I think some fans do not consider the 'successful album' into the equation. Off seeking #theoriginalhigh.. That song has so many meanings I never had considered. Always chasing the next, new bit of Adam without relishing what we have in the moment. This is a generalized statement of a fan need to always have a new Adam fix that IMO keeps escalating. The fandom in general is becoming insatiable. No offense to any Atoper..this is not an Atop-specific post. Adam has lots of differing kinds of fans. JMO |

IMO, Adam will tour no matter how the album sells. Artists tour with way less selling power than he does. And, I have always thought that the downward spiral with RCA was what caused no US tour, not just Trespassing sales themselves.
BUT, Adam has in his head the kind of tour he wants to do, probably definitely bigger venues than GN. It is hard to answer that question any other way than the way he is answering it!

Early lunch break. Outrageous thought of the day: Hey, there is a break in my work schedule in september. Hmmm... I wonder how much a plane ticket from Amsterdam to South America would cost me... (And the answer is 'too much', besides that it is around 25 hours travelling almost to the other side of the world. But I am surprised at how much I miss not having a QAL show to look forward to).   Don't you tempt me nic!  You know anything is possible ... and I feel a kind of withdrawal too! oh.....You guys are NOT the only ones in withdrawal.....I have looked at plane tickets from Denmark to South America more than once... What a once in a lifetime experience it could be.....Dream on....  |
