Hey guys - completely new to the board here. We just created a remix of Ghost Town, as we fell in love with Lambert's incredible vocals! Hope you guys like it and can share it out. We're a DJ duo based out of Asia. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijN98vEkidQWelcome to Adamtopia! Sounds great. Are you playing it at your gigs already?

Looks like no one posts anything here anymore but I didn't want to put this on the news thread. My roommate who has finally been put on the kidney/pancreas transplant list got a standby call tonight. Even if she doesn't get the call back this time it does mean that it shouldn't be too much longer before she is first call. Fingers crossed it happens soon. She has been on dialysis for over 3 years and had been on the top of the kidney only list but chose to be put on hold so that she could try to loose enough weight to be approved for both. She is type 1 diabetic and the pancreas transplant will mean she will not be diabetic anymore. Hoping this all works out as she has fought tooth and nail to get the approval.

Yay for CLASSIXX! No news yet on my roommate but my daughter accepted a job offer in Arlington, VA. She was telling me that companies don't pay relocation costs much these days but she was going to ask anyway because she will have to break her lease to move. She told me they got back to her and although they couldn't do a relocation package they increased her salary 5k. WIN!!!

Hi Rihannsu...I have not been on this thread for eons but saw your name and decided to check in. I have a brother who has had two kidney transplants and they have kept him going until this year he is 60. Funny thing...nobody expected him to live this long [first transplant was when he was 21, from Bright's disease] so he has never even considered 'retirement'. The drugs they have now to fight rejection are so much better then when he had the first one. I wish your roommate good luck. I had no idea they could give someone a pancreas transplant. Do they wait until someone is desperate? Are they considering doing them earlier, when possible.....that should shortcut so many really nasty side effects..... cheers

From what I understand, if I'm not mistaken they only do pancreas along with kidney. I'm not really sure about that but my impression from what she says is that they definitely wouldn't do a pancreas transplant just for type 1 diabetes. Transplants are serious business and for one thing there are way too many type 1 diabetics in the world for transplants to be the answer. But when you are already going to be dealing with a transplant situation due to the kidney, doing the pancreas as well for a type 1 diabetic I assume makes sense because it eliminates a whole host of other health issues to be dealt with.
Because organ supplies are limited there are lists that you have to get on and the order of the list is according to the transplant doctors as to who is in the most dire need. Of course the organs also have to be a match. It's a whole complicated process to get listed and maintain your position on the list.

Fingers crossed, my roommate got an initial heads up call on her transplant and so if all goes well she should be getting another call sometime in the next 12 hours or so to leave for Miami.
