I want to thank you all for the words of comfort. It was like being wrapped in a in a warm blanket of kindness. It really helped alot. Here is an update: My FIL passed away at the end of August just shy of his 81st birthday. He was a lovely man who never let life's trials get him down. I am holding on to his example. I nearly lost one of my furbabies to a critical illness but she pulled through and is back to normal now. Yay!! And now on to my brother, after 3 weeks in the hospital and 10 days on a respirator, my brother did get to go home. For awhile it didn't look like that was going to happen but it did and we are so thankful. We went to his house yesterday. He lives on a river and it was a glorious day. I have yet to share a personal photo here but this one makes me so happy that I'm going to share it with you Thanks again for all your support. I just love this place.

I know life hasn't always treated you kindly yet you are always upbeat and optomistic. You remind me so much of my FIL so I will leave you with one of his favorite phrases, you are "bloody marvelous" I hope one day to meet you

Haven't been here in a while. Hugs to everyone. Love you guys.
I thought I'd give a Shadow update.
I waited the week that the vet demanded before giving me the oral anti-fungal meds. I called that day and she did not call me back, so I camped out in the waiting room. She said "oh yea, I guess that was our bargain" and gave me the damn pills. Bargain? WTF? Let my poor dog suffer for 5 days before the bitch conceded to give me the medicine. Anyway, that relationship is over.
I changed her food to natural, grain free canned with cooked real meat. I'm putting acidopholis(sp) on her food. I bought all natural, made from meat dog treats. I'm using the anti-fungal shampoo and giving her the anti-fungal meds (last one today). I'm also using a topical anti-fungal RX that hubby had.
Well, after two weeks - GUESS WHAT? Shadow has no more blisters, scales, scabs, etc. She hasn't been chewing or licking anywhere for at least a week. So much for the worthless vet and specialist that I spent thousands of dollars on. I'm going to take her to my groomer's vet for her next regular check-up. (groomer used to work at Westminster Dog Show, so I think I can trust her). And, if her condition comes back I know what is needed to treat it.
Now I need some positive vibes on her cancer issue. We go for a check-up and chest x-ray with the doggie oncologist tomorrow to make sure that it did not spread. She gets one more melanoma shot also. Wish us luck.
