My father-in-law of 32 years passed away this morning. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in February and was 80 years old. Thanks to all of you who have expressed your support over the past few weeks and to those of you who have shared your knowledge and experience so freely with me. It is a beautiful, sunny day. My father-in-law was a pilot for 37 years and took his last flight this morning. I have hope that new adventures will be his to experience wherever he has landed. Lynne,To new adventures... Love, Viv

Thanks so much to all of you for the beautiful expressions of sympathy: for your words, for your poems and for your pictures. You are all the best, and you have touched my heart today. Our family has received support from so many places. In the midst of our sadness, we feel such beauty and strength in the goodness of people- in the love we feel from you and in the love we have for each other.
Thank you. <33

Lynne--just saw the news of your FIL's passing. So very sorry for your family's loss. Even when expected, we are never ready or prepared to lose a loved one. It's hard but memories and the love we shared keep them alive in our hearts forever.
Love, hugs and prayers to you and your family.

Lynne-- I'm so very sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Gosh, it feels like it was so quick to me, since the time you first told us the sad news...i can't imagine how sudden it must have felt to you guys. Thinking of you and your wonderful family, and I'm so glad you have each other. Hang on to that and hang in there. Hugs.

You and your family are going to miss him for sure. Is your mother-in-law left now to carry on alone? :-/ I think your father-in-law spent 37 years seeing things like this: And now that he's set free of the "surly bonds of Earth" he's seeing things like this: And charting a course for this: New adventures, indeed!!Hugs and condolences to you and your husband and family.
