And if it doesn't lose a spot (highly unlikely), it will have increased by 10 or more spots in a week! BTW, Building chart has ALN at #33 but only one ahead of Halsey. "Neck and Neck" for #32!!

Wasn't there a "What does it all mean" kind of summary post either from Pulse or elsewhere that went into the details on what all the different components mean? Do we have a link to that somewhere that could be kept in the page 1 post so that newbies can get the idea?

Especially when someone asks for a simplified version.

Do we have a link to that somewhere that could be kept in the page 1 post so that newbies can get the idea? Yes, but I think the non numbers people need a simplified version! Especially when someone asks for a simplified version. I'm not talking about what you suggested of the simplified daily report, I am talking about the further questions ghost asked: 1. What is the leaders chart and what is the starters chart? And the spincrease, taking-off, 7-day report charts? 2. I've seen the word "bullet" used, what does it mean? 3. I know that audience number signifies the number of people who have heard it, but what does that 0.xxx number actually mean? Those kind of things. I thought I had seen at some point a simple breakdown of this stuff but I don't remember where I saw it so I was asking if anyone knows of one that we can put a link too so that new people can have a reference to get them up to speed. This is a separate thing from the idea of a simplified daily report. I just thought it would be nice to have a reference link for those new people that do want to learn more. I love your idea of a simplified daily summary so those who aren't following numbers can get an idea of how the song is doing.

Hi ghost! I did sort of answer about leaders and starters in my answer to you on the main thread. Unfortunately I have to leave for work now so I can't answer the other questions right now. Maybe someone else can or I can try later this weekend.

OK, Ghost! Here we go! Leaders, as you figured out, are the stations giving a song the most spins. Starters are stations just starting to spin, usually under 7 spins. It needs to be noted, though, that there is only so much room on the All Access page so all the starters can not be listed. For example, today, the Spin Increase chart says ALN has 44 stations, but only 32 are shown. Audience Impression is in millions. It is determined by the Nielsen ratings of the stations in a certain city. In the US, NY is #1, LA is #2, Chicago is #3, etc. Audience is weighted by time of day the song is played. A spin at Noon is better than a spin at 3 a.m. Taking Off means it is one of the songs that is "picking up steam" on that chart. Spin Increase means just that, specifically how much the song is increasing spins. 7 Day report is the previous 7 days of spins. The "Rolling" chart means the days change by one as the week progresses. For example, today (Saturday), the previous 7 days are last Saturday through yesterday (Friday.) The only chart that really matters, for official numbers, is the Sunday Published report (not the rolling reports.) The Published report usually is posted around 6:30 p.m., Pacific Time on Sundays. You will also hear the word recurrent here a lot. this is a song that has been in the top 40, of its chart, for at least 140 days & needs to be removed so it can make room for songs coming up. This week, on HAC, "Shut Up And Dance" is going recurrent (FINALLY!) Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

This really helps me understand these charts and numbers better! Thank you pattihum, it was really really helpful I do have more questions actually, if you don't mind: 1. I always see that you are able to predict (rather accurately!) which songs are dropping off the charts. How do you do this? 2. Why does the Sunday Published report matter so much? And I may have a couple more questions in the near future! I like to learn about new things, and statistics are interesting to me!
