I am a bit worried though and that's not about US radio plays. That seems to be going pretty well. I'm somewhat worried about the streaming figures for ALN. In both Spotify and YouTube the average worldwide views are just above 40k views / day and that's not going up. In Spotify the streams went up from around 13k end of September to 46k end of October as it was released in a couple of countries then, but since then there is hardly any movement further upwards. In fact the trend I'm seeing is more downwards at the moment. So far it seems that only in Poland ALN is somewhat successful, but in the rest of the world it is struggling. I know it's not released everywhere as GT is still charted in Portugal, Austria and Germany. I read on twitter that it was just released to Argentina this week. But it's been quite some time now. I would expect at least some increases when it's being noticed in countries. In Spotify GT almost had a lineair movement upwards until the end of September. Since then the movement is very lineair down again. Although it seems to be leveling just above 200k/ day on average at the moment. The only song that seems to be increasing in plays is The Light at the moment. I've made some graphs of the Spotify streams to show what I mean. Ghost TownAnother Lonely NightSome of the bumps are caused by low updates and Spotify correcting those later. It's best to check the blue line and then still smooth it out some.

Rats, I was hoping the building chart would screw up again today and not list Guetta's song so we'd still get the spin count for ALN but they didn't. Guess we are out of luck. Hopefully the 5SOS song will drop out tomorrow and ALN comes back in so I can back fill and figure it out. I took the daily increases from the 3 days we did get & took a little bit off to estimate, ALN is at about 912 spins.

Except that for two weekends in a row the Sat & Sun updates were only +1 even though the updates during the week were higher. A +1 update puts it at 901. So one estimate is as good as another. I think it is somewhere between 900 & 927 at the most (if we assume a spincrease of 1 less than the lowest on the chart). At any rate it's all guessing unless it's back on the chart tomorrow allowing us to back calculate.

Actually, we can do some pretty good estimates using what HDD numbers we do have. Last week his Saturday HDD number was 736 for 6 days. When the published chart posted, he had 849. So his spins for Sat., would have been 113. Earlier in that week, he was getting between 129-138 spins a day. Saturday is always lower because he is not on any countdowns. This week, we only have 3 days of HDD numbers. His daily spins were 144 on Thurs, and 125 on Friday. We can't do the math for the other days because either the day before or day after is missing. We could average M-W using Thursday's number of 518, which gives about 104 spins a day. But we do have yesterday's number of 787.So assuming he got a few less on Saturday, like the past few weeks, if we use 120 spins on Saturday ( a guess) his final for the week should be around 907. Or 902 if we use around 115 for Saturday spins. Do you get how I did that? This is interesting, both weeks his highest spin days were Wed. I wonder why?

This is the chart for the next 6 songs from TOH by the way. See the line that goes from the bottom to the top? That's The Light. These are all 7 day averages. Order of the songs now: The Light The Original High Rumors Underground Evil in the Night There I Said It

I was curious about what amount of spins #50 had a year ago. Exactly a year ago, #50 had 429 spins. 900 spins would have gotten you a #41 placement! Crazy!

Ghost TownAnother Lonely NightSome of the bumps are caused by low updates and Spotify correcting those later. It's best to check the blue line and then still smooth it out some. My observations - Two distinct bumps in the ALN chart, first for the video (Sept 27-Nov 15) and then another bump when Top 40 started playing it. For the difference between GT and ALN I'm going to propose that some of the players are school age teens. From my observations (mom and sub teacher) summer is not a time of discovery. Kids don't hang out together as much so they may tend to play their favorites. GT was a summer song. ALN is in the middle of school year and while kids are busy they are also more busy socially and they've got their earbuds out and sharing what they are listening to all the time. They might listen to a lot more variety and might be more likely to pay attention to friends ideas of what's good instead of their own. Your graphs really do show that ALN was released at the height of GT's popularity.
