I don't even bother weighing myself lately...
Two "new things" this week: -got a smart kitchen scale - it tells you not only the weight but caloric and nutrition info as well...a nice toy! -added weights to my "dancing" while watching TOHT, so it is becoming a real exercise routine slowly - an hour well spent!

Hi, I'm Rihannsu and I'm calling last year my Retrograde year. LOL I went backwards but plan on shifting back to forward in 2016 both fitness and budget wise. As always my one and only hard and fast commitment for the year is to absolutely track everything. I use MyFitnesspal and Fitbit for the body and YNAB (You Need A Budget) for finances. Starting out the year at 137.2 lbs which is about 10 lbs more than I'd like but a far cry from Dec 2012 where I started at 182 lbs. I need to work on toning and knee issues this year. Wow-congratulations on your wonderful accomplishment! I need to to lose quite a bit of weight. I've just joined the local "Y" and have begun swimming which has immediately alleviated some disc issues I've been having. I also downloaded a pedometer app which really motivates me to walk more-it turns orange when I've walked 5000 steps and makes a lovely green confetti celebration when I reach 10000 steps lol! An odd thing that I found is drinking hot lemon water with raw honey first thing in the morning seems to alleviate knee pain-I think it may reduce inflammation. And of course Adam is a huge inspiration- he makes me want to dance!

It has been a crazy week for me......I too have been subbing for an ill Vice Principal and all week the weather has been terrible. Then yesterday neither the Principal nor the other Vice Principal could stay for a basketball game and all hell broke out……… I didn't finish with the police until late evening. The only upside to this week is that I lost 2 lbs. I saw the head secretary drinking lemon water also and now I'm reading about it here so I think I will definitely try it. I have arthritis in both knees and my hands as well so anything natural that will help with inflammation I am definitely interested in. Sorry about the late post I totally forgot to check in.

just over a half pound lost, but I fit in a jacket that used to be too tight. This week, I want to be more active, on nice days I'll be walking my dog at lunch. I am in Minnesota-so some days are just too cold to walk. I quess I'll have to dance to TOH instead.

LOL, follow the bouncing ball, now back to my weight from two weeks ago but my trend line is at least on a downward slope. You can barely see that it is downward but it is downward.

Staying the same which I'm ok with........but I do want to increase my fitness level. I find it so hard to motivate myself when the weather is so cold, I just want to hibernate. I walk the dogs twice a day but it's just not enough. I really enjoy reading, cooking, crocheting/knitting and these activities are all too sedimentary. I think I need to hit the gym again!

This was a good week for me. For some reason I was "in control" and didn't have so many cravings. So down 2 from last week.
I have been walking the dogs occasionally but mostly getting back into my knee/hip exercises that I detailed last year. I have tripped and fallen twice in the last two weeks out in the back yard (feeding chickens) and gone down to the ground (icy and/or wet) hard both times. My one knee is still bruised from the first fall, but I think due to my exercises I've recovered well both times. This is after one time just a few years ago taking almost a year to get back to walking a mile after some minor knee injury. I'll have to post that series, shortened, again.
I'm also doing burpies or rihannsu called them "Eileens"? I can't remember. But mostly they are get down on the floor and get back up again. Just that a couple of times can get some blood a pumping.

No you might be thinking of Myrtles but burpees are something completely different. The Myrtle's are simply to get down and then back up again with as few support points as possible with ideal being no hands or knees straight down in cross leg position and back up. Burpees are usually drop down in squat then kick legs out behind then bounce back upright like this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burpee_%28exercise%29

Hi, I am late checking in.... Down a pound. I think I would have done better without two work dinner events this week. Working from home the last two weeks has been great. My stress level is almost zero, without the morning and afternoon rush hour. And, it's quiet, easier to focus. This weeks change: Bought some fresh veggies and dip, and spicy humus for snacking. Hardest thing is the sugar cravings. Next week is a travel week, I hope I can be organized enough to have healthy snacks packed for driving. I loved this weeks OREO ad. Bought a bag, had two gave the rest away. Next office changes: found room for my Fluidity bar in my office, gonna try to get some stretching in. Also loaded " Let's Dance" on work laptop for hourly get out of the chair, stand up and dance, lol. (Definitely a work from home thing - but wouldn't it be great in an office environment ?)
