We're getting Sanjaya but no Adam so far. I really do hope that we'll be seeing Adam on the finale even if it's just a pre-taped short speech: Jennifer Hudson Joins the Long List of American Idol Alumni Returning for Series Finale And we're telling you, she's coming back! Former American Idol and Dreamgirls star will perform on the upcoming series finale, PEOPLE can reveal exclusively. The Academy Award winner first auditioned for the reality singing competition in 2003 and placed seventh on the show's third season. And Hudson - who will pre-tape her performance because she is currently starring in The Color Purple on Broadway - won't be the only familiar face returning for Idol's fifteenth (and final) farewell. Other alumni appearing on the April 7 show will be Carrie Underwood, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson, Nick Fradiani, Ace Young, Allison Iraheta, Amber Holcomb, Blake Lewis, Bo Bice, Brandon Rogers, Bucky Covington, Carly Smithson, Casey James, Chris Daughtry, Clark Beckham, Clay Aiken, Colton Dixon, Constantine Maroulis, Danny Gokey, Diana DeGarmo, Elliott Yamin, George Huff, James Durbin, Jessica Sanchez, Josh Gracin, Joshua Ledet, Justin Guarini, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Kimberley Locke, Kree Harrison, LaToya London, Lauren Alaina, Melinda Doolittle, Pia Toscano, Sanjaya, Skylar Laine, Tamyra Gray and more. Inaugural winner Kelly Clarkson - who is currently expecting her second child - also pre-taped her finale performance. The singer brought everyone - including herself - to tears in February when she performed "Piece by Piece" after guest-judging on the show for the first time. "I'm pregnant and it's nostalgic and I can't believe it's the last season," the expectant mother said after singing. "Yeah, really sorry I just bawled." American Idol airs Thursdays (at 8 p.m. ET) on Fox. The two-part finale will air Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7. www.people.com/article/jennifer-hudson-returning-for-american-idol-finale

Also loving people's tales of meeting Adam and how different people perceive him in different ways. It's fascinating. Thanks to Lenka for bringing up the topic! 2 weeks today, at this very moment, I'll be at the Apollo in London waiting to see Adam "in the flesh" for the very first time. I used to get terrible nerves when I was younger but thought I was really cool, calm and collected nowadays. Considering my stomach is already going into knots every time I think of it, I'm discovering that I'm not quite as cool as I thought. Deep breaths, Ann, get a grip!

Not likely that Adam would take the time out of his busy schedule for a group performance, nor did Idol expect that he would. That is why he was given the solo performance slot that worked with his current schedule. The Finale is over 3 nights. April 5th, 6th and 7th. The show on the 5th is 1 1/2 hours and is all about the legacy of the show. Adam will definitely be highlighted during that episode. Other than that, I don't expect him to make an appearance.

I love hearing everyone's stories about meeting Adam and about everyone's impression of him... Really wish I could meet him some day...
Someone mentioned unpredictability....For me Adam seems very unpredictable.. I've been following him only six months and he suprises me constantly...
The "phone" incident definitely was unexpected (and I read Terrance confirmed Adam was mad, don't know if that is true though) but overall when I look at his stage performances, then his interviews, then his snapchats, then some of his instagram or twitter comments etc etc, he often kinda gives me a different vibe...
Overall he really comes across as very nice and thoughtful guy to me but definitely is still big mistery... I am aware you can hardly know any celebrity, they let you know and see mostly what they want but still... but I think him being kinda unpredictable and mysterious maybe makes him even more interesting...

Here goes...my review from Denver, long so scroll may be your friend. I began the day with a bit of trepidation given the weather forecast and my GNT concert experience. Denver has had multiple MAJOR snowstorms the last couple of Wednesdays (last week it shut down the city, including the airport). The weather forecasts have been no help. Last week 1-11 inches were predicted with 14-24 actually falling depending on the area of the city, so when it started snowing with near blizzard conditions at 4:30 p.m. yesterday and a prediction of 1 inch I was concerned about the after-concert drive home. As it turned out, it was a tempest in a teacup as it only snowed for about an hour - the time it took to drive to the venue - and it didn’t stick to the ground in town (the foothills were a skating rink and treacherous though). My GNT experience was a birthday celebration gone wrong. My car battery died pulling in to my parking space with the key stuck in the ignition. As concert-goers streamed by, my daughter and I went in search of a rep from the parking garage to jump start my car to get it fully parked and get the key out. Hot and sweaty, stressed about being late for the concert … and no dinner or get together with other Glamberts… we arrived at the venue. The concert was amazing but in the back of my mind was the question of whether we would be facing a repeat of a dead car and whether the parking garage rep would still be working. Yep, dead car. Nope, parking garage rep not working so we had to call the emergency help number... and wait... and wait... and wait.. Yesterday I drove a different car. My daughter and I arrived early, wonderful dinner, great conversation and she was thrilled with the VIP ticket seating row 10 center (I don't do pictures - well, drivers license - so no photo op for me). "Mom, my first time as a VIP!" as she looked at badge and goody bag admiringly. Smiles and hugs! We got settled and I tested the stream (@mmadamimadamm is a wonder and made my ability to stream a breeze). The concert was not yet started when four women behind me began partying – HARD. They were having a great time, LOUD, ROWDY, asking me to take pictures of their group, pinching my daughter’s ass (a first by a stranger for my daughter, who was wide-eyed at the experience - "Mom!"). Yeah. I wondered what they would sound like on the stream and did let them know that I was going to be broadcasting – “cool” but it made no difference to them as they were there to have fun! @mmadamimadamm’s hyena reference? Yep, but I have to admit their joy was infectious! Also, the crowd was so loud I couldn’t distinguish much of their screams and singing – looks at self – from others once Adam’s set began. The concert was amazing. As others have said, if Adam wasn’t feeling well, you could NOT tell it from his performance. I know he was hitting high notes but wasn’t conscious of how many or in what songs – just that he sounded and looked great. The crowd was with him from the beginning. My daughter commented on the diverse crowd – much more so than the GNT concert which was heavily female – with lots of couples both straight and gay. While there were a few kids, it was generally an adult crowd running from early 20s up. I know an 8-year old who is a huge Adam fan who “is. not. happy” about not being able to go to the concert because it was on a school night! The concert is a sensory feast. Feeling the reverberation of the music from the floor, into my feet and thrumming throughout my body is something that even in GNT I have never experienced in any concert before. The screens add so much to the energy of the music. I really only focused on what was on them when taking pictures; other than that the screens blended into my overall sensory experience. Pictures today seem sterile given the experience yesterday. Adam’s engagement with the crowd was pure fun. I screamed so hard and sang so loud with the crowd that I nearly lost my voice…for me, the sign of a great concert!!! Great recap, loved it!!!!!!
