In mid-March, I attended a memorial service for a 27 year old young man, the beloved grandson of friends, who tragically left us too soon. Garrett had been a drummer until 2012 in a metal band called Age of Evil with his younger brother, Jordan on lead guitar, and another set of brothers. Within this special community of musicians, friends and family gathered at the service, many wore “AOE” t- shirts as a tribute, including Grandpa. I was soon to learn that Garrett had been an avid QUEEN fan as everyone attending sat in silence with tears while his favorite Queen song played - “The Great Pretender.” Fast forward to March 30th, 2016. Jordan Ziff, Garrett’s 24 year old brother, is invited to play guitar with the 80’s band, KING KOBRA at the SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL two days after QAL performs. Call it fate, karma, serendipity or the spirit of love between brothers and music.
I truly hope Jordan has the opportunity to meet Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert and tell them how important Queen had been to his older brother and family and what an extreme honor it is to be performing at the same festival.
Check out Jordan playing guitar and you'll hear part of a familiar song: Be sure to watch the entire video and I guess it's a requirement for all great guitarists to have long hair?

(Wish Talon or someone could tweet this to Brian May and thanks for letting me share this story)
{whispering} pssstt... The Great Pretender is not a Queen song, the song belongs to The Platters. There's a YT video of Freddie sang it (I think when he was trying to pursue solo career) and there's a documentary movie about Freddie, The Great Pretender, Freddie Mercury. On another note, I hope the younger brother got to see QAL performing in Sweden. I don't know if it's that easy to meet Brian and Roger, unless you know somebody that close the band and get back stage access.

TOT but RIP Muhammad Ali. Many yeas ago I met Ali and I have always thought he did a lot for the sport of boxing because he was very talented and, also, entertaining when talking to the public. He was so big in Asia. I remembered when heavy weight championship with him on it, every body, I mean EVERY BODY wants to watch the show. So teachers would sent us home for a couple of hours until the game's over, coz they wanted to watch him. And Government offices would close for the same reasons.. LOL. They all love him.
