Just saying.......we need decoder rings to run in this circle. How is the sale of your house coming along? 56 showings, 3 failed offers, 2potentials but need to sell their houses............otherwise it sucks. Tired of it all. WOW! Can't say I blame you, sounds like it does suck. Good news is you will be in your new home for Adam #2, nothing to distract you, like packing. (I am just trying to see the sliver lining. :-/)

This part made me think: Of course, I am looking for some improvements in "The Voice" Season 2. I'd love it if the audition portion of the season were stretched out a little more, and I'd like to see the semifinalists compete for public votes more than just four times, so we can all get to know the contestants a little more intimately. (In this regard, creating emotional attachment, "Idol" totally excels.) I've only watched an occasional YT of The Voice, so I'm not engaged or all that interested, but if Lyndsey is accurate in saying that viewers may not have a chance to get extremely emotionally invested in the contestants (which they wouldn't if they didn't feel they had to save them and support them every single week), I wonder how that will play out in terms of sales? I understand that people get to buy the iTunes products during the show, but will they care enough to track their favorite and buy their original stuff? I'll be interested to see how that plays out. Idol has always been as much about psychology and playing on people's emotions as it has been about finding talent, imo. But say what you will, it has created some intense fanbases. In other word.. how would The Voice and the winner are going to make impact to the music industry as claimed by Adam Levine ;D

If one buys the winner's album, it will be pretty much like the concept of the show. Our chairs will be turned around and if we hear something that we like, we will hit the button to turn that chair around. In other words, we will happily buy the download from itunes. Otherwise, the winner will not see that chair rotate. In fact, they will be given the cut direct as we peruse other available itunes downloads.

I actually do prefer The Voice over Idol, for all the reasons mentioned in that article. I can't even bribe my husband and son to watch Idol, but they both really got into The Voice. The contestants are better, the music more interesting, the mentoring really works.
We'll see if our interest is sustained through another season, though. And who knows if the winner will be successful? Even Idol can't guarantee that, emotional connection or no...

So basically, competing with everyone else out there in a crowded marketplace. Interesting, since part of the reason Idol exists (I think) is to turn viewers into loyal buyers. Whether that turns out to be a long-term relationship is a huge what-if, but the label whips that first album out super quick, to maximize the attachment the fans feel to their favorite. If that emotional connection isn't there, then what will make people buy? Will the show promote the hell out of the winner? Spend a shitload of money to get the single played? Weird.

I prefer The Voice over Idol BUT after a few weeks I stopped watching The Voice because I really didn't care about anyone. I just didn't connect with anyone. I guess I am spoiled. "Mama.........."

Not really weird, just brutally real. No honeymoon at all. It's all put up or shut up. It will be all about the music they produce. To relate this all back to Adam, Adam #2 will be all about the music he produces. The honeymoon is over (except for his devoted fans). I just want Adam #2 to have good music. It is essential.

I'm still watching The Voice because they do have talent. I have no desire to ever again get invested in a reality show contestant. I don't have any emotional energy left to care about another artist. Adam is enough. ETA and nobody could top Adam anyway ;D
