Sonoma County, California, produces some of the best (IMO) olive oil in the world! A small batch is produced every year by my DH and me, who, along with about 30 other dedicated souls, spend a weekend harvesting those little suckers (and believe me, picking olives is NOT like picking grapes!) and then we press what looks like tons of olives, only to get a few bottles of the fruits of our labor.
Aside from our (very, very little known) product, we have wineries here that have become part of the olive resurgence; and one ranch - McEvoy - produces a gourmet virgin oil widely considered just exquisite.
Olive oil aside . . . I have to voice an opinion that's just crying inside me, needing to be said!
I don't want to create new controversy or re-open a conversation that was already talked to death a few weeks ago, but I have to shout it from the rooftops - - - -
ADAM AND QUEEN NEED TO PLAY THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!
I don't care if the conversation is 'they are too old'; or, 'their music isn't current'; or 'the younger generation isn't into Queen' . . . . DID YOU ALL SEE WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT IN SINGAPORE?????
Formula 1 is huge!!! This race could be compared to the 'Super Bowl' in many ways!
As for the football game . . . I'd wager that most of the attendees are people closer to Brian's age than Adam's. And, virtually EVERYONE knows these stadium anthems! I can imagine how Adam & Queen would get the crowd going with a few rocking songs - just like they did in Singapore - and then just bowl everyone over with WWRY and WATC!!! The place would go nuts. I'm sure of it.
A critic of the performance of both Bastille and Queen&AL in Singapore posted "Bastille's avid set could hardly compare with the electrifying atmosphere of Queen & Lambert's powerful performance." Bastille is one of the top performing bands in the world today . . .
Know I'm preaching to the choir. But somewhere in my mind I'm thinking that someone might be paying attention. Might be thinking of the crowd at SB, and how everyone would be stomping and cheering, and, yes, crying, full of remembrance and hope, singing once more "We are the Champions, my friend, and we'll keep on fighting till the end . . . "
There, I said it.
