1) VLC Media Player As someone else pointed out, the VLC Media Player software does not care about region code and will play a DVD with any region code. It will also play both NTSC and PAL formated DVDs. VLC Media Player is available for Windows, Mac, Linux computers and also for Android and Apple phones & tables. VLC Media Player will also play just about any video or audio format including MVS and TS video files and FLAC audio files, all of which have been used for QAL video/audio from fans. VLC Media Player is my go to audio/video player!!!!! I highly recommend it!! www.videolan.org/vlc/index.htmlRead more: adamtopia.com/thread/3870/25-china-day-off-shanghai?page=4#ixzz4LJJzMKCyI have VLC media player on my apple mac mini so can I assume I will be able to play this dvd on my computer? Can I also send this to my TV through my apple TV? I recently rented Game of Thrones from my local library with the intent of watching it on my tv but there is some sort of barrier technology that would not let me do that...I had to watch in on my computer only. So is the mirror function to the apple tv similar to 'downloading'...that is, read that way by whatever is used in the dvd to stop that?? I assume so as nothing i did would let me watch it on my TV. What I really want to know is would this also be the case with these DVD's.....should they actually ever make their way down the pipe to us.... Region codes don't matter for the DVD players on PCs (including MACs) -- the DVD players that have region codes are Video Players designed to be linked to a TV. You can connect your PC (direct or wireless/Bluetooth) to a TV monitor. My suggestion is to wait and see 1. If this QAL DVD is actually released in Japan, and 2. if it is released, where and what format it is released in.
