It is virtually impossible to get a non major label single played on radio. It's not impossible, but close. The only way it happens is if a YT goes viral, or sales skyrocket, or Shazams or the streaming numbers explode. I remember, about 10 years ago, the great Ray LaMontagne was having label problems. I never forgot this statement he made in an interview, something like this. "I'm the artist. My job is to create. It's the label's job to get it sold & played." You might remember this big song of his. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3pltmw6cmII guess that is kind of my point. Here Adam is on a major label, and I don't see any indication that they are at all invested in this single. Maybe it is the song. Maybe with a more radio friendly song (whatever that means these days) they will give it a push. Just feels like the song was dropped out there without any plan. Lots of artists release "singles." Being on a label like WBR should mean something. Anyway, just curious. And maybe i'my jumping the gun with things. Who knows what the plans are with the EP. I just hope Adam gets to release new music that is actually supported. There is no indication that "Two Fux" was intended to be played by US radio. Adam's tweet indicated that it was focused on streaming media. So far, it has not even been serviced to US radio stations or sent to top DJs. And I am not sure what format they would send it too. This is probably best classified as a "buzz single" -- designed to generate some online discussion about Adam and build awareness that new music is coming. Plus, it has a special bonus of working well in the QAL concert -- so Adam gets to have about 2 million people hear new music from him - not Queen. Not every single needs to go to radio. In fact, more and more artists are ignoring radio and going around them to streaming media and influential DJs. Once it was.... You had your time, you had the power You've yet to have your finest hour Radio, Radio. But now I think it is..... You had your time, you had the power You're now past your finest hour Radio, Radio.
And it couldn't happen to a "better" group of folks. In 2016 media consumption for all US Adullts on Smartphones exceeded Radio -- and that is not counting all kinds of other digital device use. For the core CHR audience (A18-34) Smartphone were 24% of time, radio 18%. And the number 1 radio format on radio is news-talk.

This reminds me... The first time we saw this suit, I keep thinking horse races but that was another one, it wasn't bedazzeled was it? So wonder if he did it himself again or had his wardrobe mistress/master add it in? It was his NYE party. It might be Dolce Gabana. Gelly knows. I think it is in his IG too. I think the rhinestones are new. ETA: NYE, no rhinestones! www.instagram.com/p/BOv4qAwD0qz/?taken-by=adamlambert&hl=en

talon, I have a query. I read this articleMy immediate thought was, who was more progressive in rock than Queen in the 70's? For me Bohemian Rhapsody would definitely qualify as progressive. They don't even mention Queen in the article, so I assumed they don't consider them prog rock. I tried to research it online and apparently, from what I could tell, there are some differing opinions on whether Queen should be labeled prog rock. Wondered what your take was? Alright. Queen as prog-rock. The issue here really is that Queen never truly fit into any one category BUT they definitely dipped their toes in almost all of them. I will say that Queen DEFINITELY had some prog moments. But prog is a religion to those who are involved - they seem to be a very exclusive kind of group - so Queen who had so many radio friendly tracks and did a lot of NON-prog songs, they generally weren't invited to the club. They were mostly looked on as musically proficient but did too much non-prog to truly fit in that movement. You are correct in that Bohemian Rhapsody is a bit proggy. To be honest Queen II is a favorite Queen album from Prog-lovers as it fits their tastes the most - the weaving from song to song, from bit to bit in a musical movement of sorts. But the further they got from Queen II the more prog fans would shy away from Queen while showing them respect. 80s Queen though forget it...90s though...Innuendo would be a proggy kind of track... Bands like Rush...bands that made complete concept albums, weaving stories in records...those are the kind of bands that prog rock fans ate up. A more current act is Dream Theater. If you had to peg Queen down it'd probably be more Glam Rock...along with Bowie, Sweet, T-Rex, etc. But even that I'd say meh to...they were much more heavyweight to be tied down to that. They were too soft to be heavy metal, they were too light to be pop rock. They just were Queen, lol. But at the end of the day, I guess if you had a complete list of prog-rock artists, Queen would still get a mention - just not a big mention... I can't see classifying Queen as Prog-Rock. Perhaps Prog-Rock influenced. Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Rush, YES, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, even Genesis = Prog Rock. > You could probably stir up a real commotion on a Prog-Rock discussion board by proposing that Queen belongs on a Prog-Rock list. That said, they did put out some Prog-Rock music -- Queen II and parts of Night at the Opera, particularly Brian's "The Prophet's Song." But in 1972-1975, Prog Rock was "in the water" and very popular -- almost unavoidable. I have read that people close to the band say Queen never considered themselves Prog Rock but considered themselves a Rock band. With different bandmates, I think Brian and maybe even Roger could have ended up moving toward Prog Rock in 1976 but part of what made Queen different and important was the creative diversity and tension created by having these four diverse musicians together.

Trying to catch up, and just watched that awesome Green Day crowd singing BR! Does anyone have any details? They're not singing a capella, cause I can hear the BR music in the background = did someone plug the song into an amplifier somewhere? What a thrill for Roger and Dr Bri to hear that! omg!!

Can someone explain to me how this works. This is the same pre-review from Seattle where the reviewer was obviously disliking Adam before they even played there. Now here it is again in a Boston article with the same guy and same BS but with a more insulting title. Why are they going around trying to trash the show and Adam before it even hits an area. And if they wanted to post a Seattle review, why not the one the was done after the show that proved QAL a hit? What is going on? www.bostonherald.com/entertainment/music/2017/07/queen_replaces_freddie_mercury_with_jester_in_adam_lambert
