O.M.G. What a fucking show!!!! I survived, and I'm kind of surprised about that...lol! I was so nervous and anxious before we got there, and then once we were inside, it just all kind of fell in place. I have so many things spinning through my head right now that I will write a recap tomorrow. I wandered through the posts & pic and have some interesting things to tell you about some of them also.
I always knew you all were right when you said you just couldn't compare the videos with seeing QAL live. I just didn't quite realize how RIGHT you were!!!!!! This show was 1000000 times more than my expectations.
I have some cute & funny things to tell you about my friend from work who went with me. She's a hoot! And, she really liked the show, especially Adam's leather pants!! HA!!
Ok, I'm going to try & sleep for a while. Then, when I gather my thoughts (haha) I'll tell you all about my most fanfuckingtastic night with QAL!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah....he touched my hand!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeppers, 1st show ever & that happened! I was actually only 4 or 5 people away from Sandy & Bamafan at the barricades. So nice meeting you gals! Have fun in KC!!

Review: Queen + Adam Lambert bring a grand, theatrical rock show to Omaha
That was epic.
Queen + Adam Lambert didn’t pull out all the stops. They ran over them with a chugging steamroller as they plowed through more than two dozen songs.
The familiar boom-boom-clap of “We Will Rock You” rang out through CenturyLink Center as Lambert took the stage alongside guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor.
Joined by three backing musicians, Queen didn’t back down for two hours, smashing out hit after hit after hit.
Like a precision machine, Queen and Lambert, who has fronted the band on various tours since performing with them on “American Idol” in 2009, rammed through “Killer Queen,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Under Pressure,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” several other classics you know by heart and a few other tunes such as “Radio Ga Ga” that are more fan favorites than rock ‘n’ roll classics.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band was incredible, especially May, whose versatile, melodic and emotive playing was as constantly front and center as Lambert’s vocals were.
As for Lambert, he isn’t Freddie Mercury.
But you won’t find a better substitute.
Mercury died in 1991, and the band’s legendary frontman is simply inimitable in his combination of style, vocal ability and stage presence. But on Saturday, Lambert filled Mercury’s role admirably.
Lambert’s vocal style is closer to a Broadway performer’s than to Mercury’s full-range, baritone, rock ’n’ roll force of nature, but Lambert’s clear voice can hit any note and hold it longer than almost anyone you’ve ever heard, making him a good fit for a band known for hopping all over the genre map.

This needs the rest of the article: (and their photo gallery is terrific) “There’s only one Freddie Mercury, and I know some of you are like, ‘This guy’s no Freddie.’ I know. Believe me, I know,” Lambert said. “I just feel lucky I get to be up here with these legends. So thank you for giving me a chance tonight.” I can’t think of anyone better. No one else would dye their hair red and wear nearly a dozen costumes of leather and sequins. No one else would crush those vocal runs. And no one else would be that fabulously theatrical in their performance. The more theatrical Lambert became in his vocal delivery and movement, the more entertaining he was. He warmed up after the first few songs, and by “Fat Bottomed Girls,” Lambert was throwing himself into every vocal run and letting his crisp tone fill the arena. May and Taylor kept up Queen’s reputation for three-part harmonies by lending their still-hefty vocal talents, and the duo backed up Lambert on “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “Somebody to Love” and numerous other songs. Taylor also took lead vocals on “I’m In Love With My Car” and, singing David Bowie’s parts, dueted with Lambert on “Under Pressure,” showing that he has a rock star’s voice all his own. May took lead on a portion of “I Want It All” and sat down with an acoustic guitar to sing “Love Of My Life,” which he called “a little Freddie song.” For the final verse, Mercury appeared on a screen next to May and wrapped the song as the audience stood on its feet and cheered wildly. Queen and Lambert closed out the show with a string of classics, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which was divided between Lambert’s impassioned delivery and a recording of Mercury’s original vocal track, and a finale one-two punch of “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” that ended in a shower of golden confetti. Lambert and May stood at the end of the stage, which was shaped like May’s signature Red Special guitar, with their fists in the air, looking rightfully triumphant.

Didn't listen at all tonight as my wife and I went to dinner and Spider-Man.... But it would be a real bummer if Break Free takes the place of Spread Your Wings full time. I like adding Break Free now and again.... But trade out a warhorse like crazy little thing or fat bottomed girls.. Not one of the newer tracks! I agree. SYW is one of the highlights of the show for me. I love the song and I have not heard it as many times as the standard songs. As far as I am concerned, they could drop FBG forever. Keeping fingers crossed. Although I will state positively, I'm sure I will love the show regardless...but it is par for the course and what sometimes frustrates me about Brian (whom if rumors in the past would have it, this kind of thing would fall squarely on). I LOVE Brian as you all know. If Brian went on a solo tour, I'd be just as excited as QAL and would be front and center. BUT This kind of thing seems to happen all the way back to the QPR days. They try something new, and a bit out there...and then they get either freaked out that it isn't as responded to right away or they can't quite get it - so they say fuck it and go back to old standbys. Although I'm still shocked about no TYMD. I am one who loves FBG generally. They stopped playing it after 1982 and I was psyched they brought it back for QPR. But since the first QPR gigs in 2005 it's been constant, so as much as I love that opening harmony block, it could get a long rest. Personally I could always do without AOBTD. I know it's the biggest American hit they had so I can't see them ever dropping it especially in the US, but there is so much more I'd rather see. Some Queen fans would say the same about I Want It All but for some reason I *NEVER* get sick of seeing that one...

Never saw a concert where this was more true. It's because the size and scope of everything can not be captured on camera. Kind of like the Grand Canyon. Ya, the photos are amazing and stunning, but even a panorama does not capture its size. Frank and those screens are kind of the same way!

IDK, about it being Brian's lone decisions though. Adam does it on his solo torus too. I think it has to do with how he feels the reception is, plus how it affects him vocally. TBH, I thought putting it with WWTLF was NOT a good decision. IMO, it was a beautiful moment during the encore. Maybe Brian thinks it's too much of a quiet moment for the encore, or Adam does? Personally, I love a quiet song in an encore. P!NK does it, among others. WWRY and WATC will always get everyone back on their feet & rockimng again, so i don't see the problem! Not that people were actually sitting down for SYW. Adam and Brian on the end of the thrust, for that song, was so beautiful! Now, that being said, they also like to pull "I Want To break Free" from the sets. I am pretty sure I have never seen that one live!

Amazing review from the Omaha World-Herald! Spot-on observations and a true appreciation for Adam's role in Queen.
Love the tweets from people who have FINALLY discovered Adam through Queen and are seeing what we have seen and loved for so long. Welcome to the show! Adam is gaining new fans with every show. Interesting tweet from the person who said they discovered QAL through their appearance on James Corden. Just goes to show that every appearance for Adam has an impact.
And hey, was that one tweet from the "real" Cat Stevens? I have my doubts.
My last QAL show was in Chicago. It was the FIRST show of the last tour. So much has changed. At that show, Adam just faked the drinking of the champagne in KQ. The bottle wasn't even open. So many great changes have been made since that first show. Going to be there again on Thursday. I am in total "SQUEEEEEE" mode! Thanks for all the vids, everyone!

Now, that being said, they also like to pull "I Want To break Free" from the sets. I am pretty sure I have never seen that one live! Maybe not sole...but I'm basing this on previous info. I know during the QPR shows it was a little bit of the tension between Paul and Brian (Paul wanted to shake things up a bit more, Brian wanted to rely on the warhorses). Roger reportedly agreed with Paul but it was ultimately done Brian's way which is why I think Brian has the most pull on that decision...I admit I could be wrong. I also loved it in the encore. I love any song in the encore that's in addition to WWRY/WATC. I thought it was the perfect position for it if I'm honest. BUT I would take it wherever it is in the set! As for I Want To Break Free. They generally don't do it in North America. They didn't in 2005 or 2014. In 2006 they did do it at a handful of NA dates in 2006. But at generally every other gig outside of NA they do it....It's funny that I have actually never seen Break Free live but I've heard it so many times over the years that I feel like I have! lol.. I'd much prefer SYW...a superior Deacon song to me anyways!
