Adam Lambert's life story will be told this weekend in a "Behind the Music" documentary profile on VH1.

The "American Idol"-sprung pop star, who grew up in Rancho Penasquitos and graduated in 2000 from Mt. Carmel High School, is the subject of a profile episode airing at 10 p.m. Sunday on the cable network.

Using personal interviews with Lambert, his family, friends and mentors, as well as "American Idol" and concert footage, the episode details Lambert's recognition that he was gay in sixth grade, his teen years as a choir and musical theater star, his Hollywood years touring in "Hair" and performing in "Wicked," his time on "Idol" and the aftermath.

Lambert's mother, Leila, said Tuesday that her son has seen the episode and is happy with how it portrays his life. She is in New Jersey visiting an old friend this week and said that like everyone else, she'll be seeing the show for the first time Sunday night.

He seems like a genuinely good guy. Didn’t watch his run on that show as I am not a fan of that show but I guess these kids have to do what they have to do to get exposure. I’ve caught him on Oprah and other shows but he personally touched my life when he helped a school that I teach at in Boston. He sponsors Donors Choose and one of my projects was fully funded because of him. Because of Adam Lambert my students now for the first time have the musical instruments we have been lacking since our music program was implemented over two decades ago. We had an Adam Lambert day in our class at the beginning of the year and the kids learned songs from his CD. I just wish more celebrities would get behind causes like he does.

Posting this in comments because it is a guess ---

There is only one song from Adam #2 that has tons of posts -- that is the Benny Blanco track. It looks like this is the lead single for the album. Sure seems like it is.

When they did FYE -- we got the most tweets about the FYE single recording session, post production. Remember all those tweets about Adam's extra vocal recording session for backing tracks and then Dr. Luke working on vintage beats.

Today marks the one year anniversary of my first AFL concert experience in Lubbock, Texas at The Pavillion, more commonly referred to as the Slaughter house, because the building where the concert was held was once used as a meat packing plant/slaughter house. For those of you newer fans, this is where Adam was when he tweeted “Let’s throw some glitter on this barn!!!”. The “Slaughter house” concert holds a very special place in my heart, and was unique in many ways, here are a few of the reasons:

1) First time Adam performed the opening set with shoes on, and he also did not have his purple coat on. Reason? There was no back stage area, Adam had to walk from a near by trailer to do his costume changes, and it was at least 110 degrees inside the venue, so it was too hot for that magnificent coat and bare feet on the concrete walk way..
2) First concert performed in Texas, and it was a full month before Adam came back to Texas to perform in Dallas and Houston in Sept.
3) Lowest attended Glam Nation concert on record, reportedly (44% attendance) about 1000 people were there out of estimated capacity of 2,250. This is highly questionable, because the building was a large hall, and I find it hard to believe that they could have packed that many people in there. With the heat, there would have been a lot of casualties.
4) Unquestionably the lowest of the low rent venues that Adam played. The venue was right next door to a paper recycling plant on the outskirts of the agricultural/industrial sector of Lubbock. By comparison, all the other venues were in nice theatres or popular clubs, except for the one he performed on a bridge, sorry, can’t remember which one that was.
5) The crowd was decidedly younger than most GNT crowds, mostly college students and young adults, and not many “Glamberts” per se.
6) And as NoAngel' so eloquently phrased last night:
In retrospect, this concert was one that made me so sure I was stanning not only an amazing singer but a pretty extraordinary person. He spun straw into gold that night, and as Neil alluded recently, he performed in extreme conditions "in costume" and gave 200% to everyone who travelled to this barn/slaughterhouse.

I remember some of the troupe were tweeting kind of wtf comments, and then Adam made the "glitter on this barn" tweet, and it was as if someone had cut a hole in a cloudy sky and let the light in.

(And not to mention the lulz when the media thought Adam was commenting on the gay marriage issue from that day! Good times... )

I got to go to the Houston and New Orleans concerts as well, but Lubbock will always be a very special memory for me. In celebration of the Lubbock concert, I am re-posting my review and some very interesting pictures, that were originally at Planet Fierce, R.I.P.:

The Glam Nation Tour stop at the Lone Star Events Center in Lubbock, Texas will undoubtedly go down as the hottest, rawest, raunchiest show of the Glam Nation Tour of 2010. The anticipation of seeing Adam Lambert and the first Texas show had been building since May. I had to endure hours upon days upon weeks wondering: when is Adam coming to Texas? Seems like everyone else was planning on going to several shows, there were at least 25 on the east coast, 15 in the mid-west, and 10 on the west coast, and still, no Texas tour date! Then, finally, the word was out, from the back of a tour shirt, that Adam was coming to Lubbock! What? I mean, what the fuck? Lubbock? What about Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Midland, even El Paso, anywhere but Lubbock!!! But Lubbock was the first show in Texas, and it was awesome! It was a totally different type of venue than anywhere else Adam has played, a totally different group of people that came to see him, and the show that Adam put on for the Texas fans was totally unique, and awesome, of course.

While preparing this tribute, I found in my laptop a video of WLL that was taken by Adamized’s sister, and with lynneville’s help, here it is! The audio is not great, and the beginning of the song is cut off, but the visual elements are incredible, and show Adam at his sexiest and fiercest self belting it out for a hungry, horny, sweaty, raunchy crowd of West Texans. I was standing on the rail to the right of the young man with the black hat, about 6’ from the stage (I am too short for you to even see the top of my head). I will NEVER forget this night, hope you enjoy the view:

Ok, thanks for the info. It didn't even come to my mind that WBC has twitter accounts!

They seem to oppose anything, as long as it brings more publicity to them. But, the loonier they'll get, the more irrelevant they'll get (and, fortunately, also the more coverage they'll get, since medias don't seem to value news-worthiness by relevance anymore, only by potential 5 second reader interest.)

Though I'm still wondering what opposing opinions against Adam/AMA performance BTM will present. Family council? Some journalist?
