Funny how a song, WWTLF, was routinely ignored in virtually every review up until a few weeks ago. Now, it is a frequent mention. Think they read and crib one another's reviews? "Lambert — careful not to mimic Mercury — brought his own artistry and interpretation to the music. Specifically, his emotive interpretation of “Who Wants to Live Forever” as well as handling Mercury’s vocals in a duet of “Under Pressure” with Taylor induced goosebumps. It was simply that magnificent." Not sure. Whatever the reason they discovered Adam's take on WWTLF the accolades are well deserved. It is a fantastic display of vocal beauty. Wish some would stop the frequent mention of he is not Freddie, lol. After all these years people are coming to see Adam and Queen and not an impersonation of Freddie.

Referencing the above video of 'Sure Fire Winners' from the Costa Mesa concert 7 years ago tonite . . .
I flew to LA and attended this concert (among many others!!) by myself. Adam was my 'Pied Piper' and I couldn't help but follow him.
I was sitting in the 8th row at Costa Mesa. The seat next to me was filled, just before showtime, with a person who kept turning around and looking back to the lawn seats far away. I couldn't help but ask. "Oh, I'm looking for my family! I went on StubHub today and found a seat close to the stage - but everyone else is back on the lawn." This was her first 'Adam' show. I felt like a veteran . . . I had been to four. She was beyond excited! When the show began, so did her tears. She cried with joy for an hour or more; from "VooDoo" through "Soaked" through the encore. Experiencing Adam and Glam Nation went to new heights through the eyes and senses of this lovely new friend.
It's been special ever since. We've traveled together, met each other's families, stayed at each other's homes . . . she is my 'Kindred Spirit'. It began with Adam, and it continues through joy and the complete understanding of one another. The 'Adam' connection sort of allowed us to begin, honestly, at the core of a knowing friendship. All the layers of the onion were already peeled as we began. We were like newborns.
I know that others have found kindred spirits through Adam. I'm feeling thankful, grateful, and fortunate.
Adam may not know it; but he - or his inspiration - is much more than a voice, a beauty, a demeanor, a presence, or artistry. Certainly, much more than a critique or review. I have that knowledge in my heart. He was the catalyst in an ordinary life - and it will always be more than enough for me.

reading the "nostalgia" posts just made me realize that last night was a full circle moment for me:
the very first time I saw Adam perform in an arena concert was on the AI tour in the summer of 2009 (i think I even remember the date - Aug. 8 (?)) and it was at the Prudential Arena in Newark, NJ. (Incidentally it was my very first time at any concert in an arena setting.) And now I was at the same place watching him front Queen! #proudofAFL
