And now, A thread of my @queenwillrock + @adamlambert experience:
let me say that I was FINALLY happy to experience this comb of musical talent, something that Robin has been telling me about for years
And I have known a good amount of Queen songs, those that are extremely well known and some that might only be known to hardcore fans.
Anyhow, I saw ADAM about a year ago at Terminal 5 and lemme tell you, that fucker is quite the singer & showman.
Ok, now to the concert last night: It wasn't the headbaning experience and craziness i expected HOWEVER, the concert was MAGICAL
"MAGICAL" is what I keep bringing myself back to this afternoon. Queen + Lambert is a MAGICAL combo.
I will fully admit that at first a few years back, I kind of thought the idea of this was corny. Last night, I ate humble pie.
And while Adam delivers obviously great, enjoyable vocals to TIMELESS songs, to see/hear Brian May & Roger Taylor live FUCKED ME UP!
That is really a strong reason to go. It's great that older fans know that and it's great for Lambert fans to experience / discover that.
The generation that Adam brings to a Queen show, from what I sense, don't go to many shows to hear live music.
You have Brian May shredding faces (and making me cry during his solo) and you have Roger Taylor beating drums with decades full of passion.
You have Spike Edney hitting keys and other band members playing their heart out. Apologies for their names escaping me.
Yes, this generation and the younger one go to concerts but it's more about phones capturing and the audience not FEELING the music.
It was great to be at a concert where people OF ALL AGES AND GENDER IDENTITIES were more into the concert than their phones.
(minus the woman in front of Robin and I, she was just majorly *eye roll*)
Adam's showmanship + the band's insane, beautiful music playing live makes Q+AL a show that you should definitely check out.
Don't feel any hesitation because it's Adam up there and not Freddie. I know that it might be the reason as to why you don't want to go.
But Adam treats the iconic and legendary band with so much genuine respect and love that you will not be disappointed.
And I will say that being in a room when Brian May sings "Love of My Life" and the arena sings and lights up their phone in unison .....
that was genuinely one of THE most beautiful moments in live concert attendance history.
So, in conclusion: It's great that a combo like Q+AL exists because it brings people back to the emotion and experience of TIMELESS music.
Whether you are the kid that was sitting in front of us or the older couple that was jamming behind us. IT WAS MAGICAL!
So yeah, go fuckin' treat yourself to a night of magic, fun, cuteness and so much more. #Queen #AdamLambert #Glamberts #QUEENFOREVER
And once again, Thank You to
robininny for letting me be her date and making me fulfill something I've wanted to experience with her.
But for real, y'all: That BRIAN MAY GUITAR SOLO is the fuckin' greatest! like .... SHOOK!
