metislight thanks for that further info! I think I've heard her songs "love song" and "brave" which I both like, before but didn't know it was her. Gravity doesn't do much for me

Morning musings on another frigid AM. I am trying so hard to not project that Adam has the Judas part ,although I believe he is the perfect Judas. I really like that the cast,so far like Adam, are real artists who really work at their craft. I think about building myself up and then being disappointed if he doesn't get the role. I am soooo invested, too invested. To add my two cents for what it is worth,I really think Shoshanna did a really good job for Adam... My magazine covers with Adam attest to that. IMHO,Adam has longevity as his goal.. He has outlasted some pretty rough waters and is still riding the waves gloriously. To use the term in a different context as far as his career," He's got this"

Put me on the team: Hope that Shoshanna is still involved with Adam. Never understood all the complaints. Adam's career has always been the unusual way, in that he takes a certain step or does something and for some reason or another it does not work out, and it seems like every door gets slammed into his face. And then, all of a sudden, a door opens up and he gets an opportunity and he rides a new wave to bigger and greater success, and it was utterly unconventional, but it happened, and now he is at a next level. That is why the regular comparisons with the average pop star usually end up so hopelessly off for Adam. His career is moving forward without following some standard promotional program. In fact, most things that Adam ever started because they were the next logical step for a pop star, end up meaningless. It is the special and unusual that propels Adam forward, not the planned or well-trodden path. So, if that is who Adam is and how his life has always been, then what is a PR person supposed to do with that? Plan something and be prepared, sure, but otherwise go with the flow, because you can be guaranteed that it will come differently than you think it will. To the extent that PR is prevention of trouble, Shoshanna has never failed him. To the extent that PR is building the artist brand and reputation, she capitalized on what his career gave her to work with. 7 years on, Adam who started out being treated as a joke or some fodder in the UK in 2009 and 2010, is now a well known artist, who is mostly known for being the present frontman of Queen. He is at a completely different level. Did that fall into her lap? Of course it did, nobody would pretend any differently. But she did what was right to kick the pebbles forward and I trust she would do that going forward too. Now, what I do think that Adam could potentially use, is a bit more PR representation in the US, but in UK, he is fine, imo. But, I would think that this would be more up to his management team to discuss and decide that with him. And they are not talking (which probably is good overall, but also leaves us with no information to go on). I think that Adam has been in the business long enough now, that he will have a grasp on what he wants to do. He has plenty of friends whom he can ask, if he wants to accelerate the publicity level in his life. But just one question: How do we even know that Adam wants that? Maybe he is quite happy to not be on the fastest of those 'fame-trains'. Maybe, he likes working away at building his career the way it is going. It sure is working fine for him. What an insightful post..I sooo agree,Adam's career is so unpredictable in that it doesn't follow an ordinary course. Then again Adam is not a typical pop star. "He marches to his own drummer"with longevity in mind.

I remember him performing on some tv shows there, giving some interviews and doing some concerts. But other than the UK not playing his music, I didn't know he was considered a joke there. Makes me sad to hear that. Is that why they would not play him there when WWFM was a hit all over Europe and US?

I don't think he ever was. I have UK friends. He might have been barely known, but a joke? Have never heard that. Where's our Sophie B?

The one thing I do remember is some fans would complain because they thought his publicist only got him coverage in mostly gay publications in the UK. His concerts were well attended by those who knew of him tho but without a radio presence it would be impossible for his songs or him to really take off. Queen gave him a wider audience but radio never got on board. One of my best earlier memories was when he appeared in Scotland (I think for a radio interview) wearing a Kilt. He was so damned cute and they loved him!

Not Sophie B,but I'm from the U.K and I've never heard Adam being known as a joke . His makeup did seem to get more coverage than his music at times and he was often referred as Lord Gaga but never aj joke .The biggest mistake I think was that WDYW was never properly released as a single and that when he appeared on shows it was mostly just to chat ,which I think was a shame as people missed out hearing his voice..When Adam did his music show cases he was always well received, but the singles that were released never made an impact.

I don't think he ever was. I have UK friends. He might have been barely known, but a joke? Have never heard that. Where's our Sophie B? Never a joke. It's important to note that Adam was almost completely unknown here after Idol. No one I knew had heard of him. In certain countries which followed US Idol closely it was a different matter. He started from scratch....had to build up a profile here when he didn't have a blockbuster single or any inbuilt following. And UK radio was reluctant to play music from American reality show winners - wasn't that said once quite explicitly? i was amazed when he got slots on the Jonathan Ross show (2010) and on Graham Norton. Presume Shoshanna would have orchestrated that? i will say that I think those shows were too early in a way - he was nervous and didn't shine. And he didn't have a hit song to promote. Like his general career, in the UK it is being built brick by brick - solidly....he'll never be any kind of flash in the pan. His name is becoming recognised and appreciated...as a vocalist, performer, personality rather than as a solo pop star. The London QAL NYE was a huge leap forward for Adam. His name was top of the googles for four days (or something like that)... And after two nights at Wembley Stadium in June, no one is going to have to google him again - they're going to know already!
