lyndseyparker Lyndsey Parker Anyone see @adamlambert on @projectrunway last night? He did GREAT! (But the clothes the designers made were FUGGGLY.) yhoo.it/r3OjvG5 minutes ago As Heidi Klum's "Project Runway" catchphrase goes, in fashion, one day you're in, the next day you're out. Unless, of course, you are Adam Lambert. Because Adam Lambert never goes out of style. (more) She is such a fan. I love Lyndsey!

Just setting the DVR up for Majors and Minors and noticed we get the East Coast feed here. So it comes on at 5:00 and 8:00. I have Verizon. I have both East and West Coast times too. \o/ For the major channels, I only have West Coast times, but I guess this is minor enough that I have both.

LOL, one of the best write-ups about PR yet! popdust.com/2011/09/23/adam-lambert-project-runway-judge/It was only a matter of time, but we’ve taken second helpings of the Adam Lambert Kool-Aid. Credit Thursday night’s episode of Project Runway and his stint as guest judge as responsible for putting us over the edge. While some may shudder at the term judge—thanks to lasting memories of past DUIs or simply the scars of adolescence and/or that time you were in a beauty pageant—we prefer to use “one who gives an authoritative opinion” as its multipurpose meaning, allowing us the convenience of not seeing “those who judge” as people looking to pick apart our flaws, but rather experienced evaluators filled with constructive criticism that can only make us better as a whole. A lot of earnest words in one sentence, we know.
As a guest judge for last night’s challenge that somehow involved The Sheepdogs, Lambert was just that: helpful yet decisive, and well received by both the contestants and the show’s fans. He took on the role of the friend who will tell you that high-waisted skirt might not be the best option since it makes you like Dumbo, BUT that your hair looks really, really good. “The guest judge I enjoyed the most I mean by far was Adam Lambert,” said designer Joshua McKinley in the Project Runway video diary. “He was really critical, but without being hurtful about it,” added Anya Ayoung-Chee. Appropriate for the nicest man on Twitter, yet too many of those niceties strewn across a designing show could lead to some really fugly shirts ending up on his doorstep with an expectation that he’ll wear one in his next video.
(MORE) I love this: Have at the clip below, Glamberts. And tell us: Is he the best, or the best ever?

I think someone mentioned earlier he'll be on next month so not sure if I'll watch. Maybe just to see what the show is like.

I'm pretty sure his segment is in October; I thought maybe they would do a tease for the whole series on the premiere tonight, but that would probably just be the footage we've already seen. Oh well, I'll probably watch to get a sense of the kids participating.

After watching the extended clips, I am even more impressed with Adam. He gave such good critiques. Reihmer is right... I also want a Tickle me Adam doll that gives critiques! And his advice to Oliver.... how great was that? Whoever said that Oliver just needs a trip to burning man, I'm sure Adam would agree with you. Everyone on that show was hearteye-ing at Adam. My sister was a lukewarm fan during Idol, lukewarm Idol fan, too, but completely turned against Adam after AMAs. I didn't worry about it because she's not a music person anyway. I mentioned PR a few weeks ago and she happens to watch it. She called me a few minutes ago to say she watched it last night and was shocked (what can I say?) at how well spoken and mature Adam is. I didn't want to push, so I just said yes, he has really grown, is a real people person, etc, so she didn't feel I was trying to talk her into anything. It's not as if she's going out to buy a CD when it comes out, but it still makes me feel good that she understands he is something special. This is exactly why I think these TV appearances are important. He can sing his face off on five #1 singles, but there will be people who remember the AMA brouhaha and the pictures of Adam in the voodoo costume and makeup from GNT, and will say "I don't like him. He is too weird, flamboyant, vulgar, etc." The music takes a back seat to this image they have which is only one snapshot of a very eclectic, multifaceted, talented, intelligent artist and all-round nice guy. If TV appearances show Adam the striking looking, mature, articulate, clever, nice man these people may realize there is much more to him than the one or two images they have of him. They will then be willing to listen to music with an open mind. Of course, once that happens, there is a great chance they will like it, like him, and even buy and play his music.

My lingering suspicion is that Adam has already created 3 albums and his interview yesterday did nothing to disperse these thoughts at all for me.
Remember we had a phase long long time ago, when the storyline was: The new album will be more along the lines of WWFM, because why change something that worked. It will be less eclectic, a more unified sound. Adam was never 100 % convincing in telling this story and he certainly was never too enthusiastic about it, so I thought at the time that this is the A&R party-line and Adam is talking himself into liking it. And so the months went by and we heard somehow less and less about that "WWFM cloning biz".
Then the "very different, much more real and honest, less OTT, less glam" storyline started to take shape. Obviously OOL was developed during this much more honest phase. It belongs in subject matter there and we were introduced to it the end of July. And we all loved these new messages sooooo much more. Excitement for the album was beginning to be much more palatable. The assumption was that the mid-August sessions had been finalized and the song selection process with RCA was complete and we were moving forward. Adam seemed very confident and happy at that time.
Somewhere along the line then something happened that altered the course. Could it be perfectionist Adam who just felt he could do even more and one up his already brilliant creation? Could the new team at the helm of Sony/RCA influenced that more urban direction by opening a few doors for him? Did he just have a new set of ideas and wanted to see them come about?
The information that he now has executive control makes any such a scenario of re-writing parts of the album more likely, because he is a perfectionist, he is very open to new ideas that may have brought towards him and he is curious and likes a challenge. Whatever it is, nobody is stopping him now.
I think that urban direction is a very recent development and I think we can assume now that this album will be just as eclectic as FYE ever was. The fact that he was now a bit hesitant whether OOL was on the album, when in July he said it would be, is further indication of a directional change.
Adam kind of confirmed that he sees his own album evolution in his own interviews over time. The only question now remains, will the album ever be perfect enough for its demanding Executive Producer?
Adam loves OTT, can you ever go OTT on album ideas and album quality and album perfection? Is there such a thing as too much goodies? Somehow I think the answer is yes. So is somebody else seeing this happening? Just asking a question, here. Don't rip me to pieces, please, but if you want to talk me out of this...go right ahead :-)
