Have to say, I really liked that snippet Adam posted...very excited about the song now. I was kind of bummed about NE and CIH (although I really like NE in the red room performance, or wherever that acoustic performance was). I think my main problem is that I just don't have any kind of attachment to the 70's sound, it doesn't resonate with me. I came to the US in '72 and listened to country music for the next 10 years or so. Pop music wasn't even on my radar, so I'm totally unfamiliar with the groups or singers that were popular in the 70's. And I'm not hugely attracted to the shredding and the electric guitar; Brian is the only one I kind of like the guitar sound with. But Superpower sounds promising, and I'm sure there'll be other songs on the Velvet that I'll like. It is wonderful how we can all enjoy the many different sides of Adam's music together. When I hear guitar like that...I just have to move. It really makes me feel the music. Of course I grew up hearing music with lots of guitar work and shredding. I am not a fan of what I call 'bubble gum pop'. And I never liked country music though my dad would play a lot of the old country/classic style music that you might have liked but they might have been older than who you listened to... Conway Twitty, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Tucker, Johnny Cash and June Carter, Tammy Wynette, and George Jones are some I remember my dad listening to at home. I find it great that we grew up liking and listening to different styles of music but find 'common ground' loving what Adam brings to the music world!

My sister is heading to Germany tomorrow; she promised to drink Bier and eat Pretzen for me Is she coming to the Oktoberfest? It's that time of year again 🙈 Btw. Do you like you Datschi with whipped cream or plain? Just plain; tummy doesn't handle whipped cream really well. Oh god, now you've got me thinking about German food I love German food.

I was 13 when I came to the States, and country music was really close to traditional German music, so I think it helped with homesickness. My dad's favorite was Johnny Cash, but we also listened to Hank Snow, Hank Williams, etc. I loved Merle Haggard so much. Actually, it was my ex that introduced me to Michael Jackson, Bread, and some others I can't even remember now.

I've been alternating listening to the snippet (doing some couch dancing) and listening to Got to Give It Up.
