Happy for another opportunity for Adam with "Ratatouille!" His star power has been on full display for many worthy causes. And the positive and career related press has been great and a real joy.
And that #1 live album for QAL still brings a big smile to my heart.

Slightly OT, but not really: While browsing through Amazon Prime Video Canada, I discovered a documentary called "Hired Gun". www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLeP-U2gcRIIt is about session musicians (mostly from the field of rock/hard rock/metal, but some have worked with pop-rock artists like P!nk or Hilary Duff). It is on itself a very good way to spend your time during the holidays, but there were a few things that related to Adam in my mind: - Adam has been relying on hired guns for his concerts in the last years. In the documentary, you will discover how different established musicians treat their temporary band members - e.g. Billy Joel being a real a-hole vs. Alice Cooper or Ozzy+Sharon Osbourne creating a family atmosphere. Adam obviously has parallels to the latter group... - Some artists featured in the documentary went through the pains of replacing an iconic dead band member, going through a similar experience as Adam "replacing" Freddie. However, they had to do it within days or weeks after the band member died in an accident (Jason Newsted stepping in for Cliff Burton of Metallica; Brad Gillis stepping in for Randy Rhoads in Ozzy Osbourne). They were met with people crossing their arms during the concert, showing them the finger... - One musician interviewed in the documentary who actually crossed paths with Adam on stage is Eric Singer. He replaced Peter Criss in KISS and played the drums on the AI finale performance with Adam. A parallel to Adam I noticed - while he committed to donning The Catman makeup of Peter Criss, he specifically emphasized that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley never asked him to watch Peter Criss' videos or perform like him in any way. Reminded me of Adam talking about Brian and Roger accepting him as a unique musician with his own style. - One of the success stories in the documentary is of Jason Hook (who also co-produced the film). He went from playing on tour for Hillary Duff, through Alice Cooper, to becoming a full-time member of a heavy metal band called 5 Finger Death Punch (which was my personal discovery of the week and I am listening to them on Spotify right now). It was hilarious that old-time rockers like Alice Cooper knew of him because their kids dragged them to a Lizzy McGuire concert. Alice actually said "If somebody told me Hilary Duff's guitarist would be coming in, I would have sent him out through the back door, but I knew Jason could play, so..." Shows you how pop music can cause stigma, making it even more impressive for Adam to walk both paths at the same time. And also how well session/touring musicians can adapt their playing style to the current boss, something Adam Ross had commented on in the past. Highly recommended if you have the time and access to Amazon Prime Video. It used to be in Netflix at some point in the past.

Love that we are starting off the New Year with Adam and Ratatouille! Can't wait to see everything the new year holds. Hopefully QAL will be able to get the tour in. Love Sharka post as usual and really enjoying how Adam is getting a kick out of it!
