Well, Adam still isn't ready to tell us the subject of his musical, but in the "Today" interview he used the pronoun "him" and said it was someone we may not have heard of. I think that takes care of LindaG23 's Marsha P. Johnson guess, and probably my Harvey Milk guess as well (unless he's counting on a lack of knowledge of relatively recent history among the populace, which, if so, may not be misplaced). It also eliminates the George Michael or Prince guesses. I'm now officially at a loss, but am intrigued! Darn, I thought Marsha P. Johnson would have made a great fun but serious musical. Pain and Pathos with a 70s musical background. I will leave a tiny chance in because they were also Malcolm Michaels Jr., but it's likely someone else. I wonder who?!?

You had me sold with that guess! What a tour-de-force that lead role would have been. I'm not entirely giving up on the Harvey Milk guess, especially given that he was talking to Aussies when he said it was someone they may not have heard of, but time will tell.

I kept thinking of that Broadway friend of his that he gets together with all the time whose name I can't remember right now. Also, Billie Porter... OMG. Like you, I'm not giving up entirely and if it's not MPJ, then I may have to go thru my rolodex of Broadway producers and tell them to get on it now!

I found him on Broadway World. He is Tony-nominated. I think he was in Hair with Adam in Germany. www.broadwayworld.com/people/Charl-Brown/

since there has already been a musical about Harvey Milk...doubt he'd go there. Letter to Harvey Milk is a musical composed by Laura l. Kramer, lyrics by Ellen M. Schwartz, book by Jerry James; it is based on Lesléa Newman's short story of the same name. It won the Richard Rodgers Award in 2012. I had never heard of Marsha P Johnson...had to look her/him up. Another possibility...maybe...lol twitter.com/Lynneville/status/1353491099738890247
