Ok question. I saw some ppl saying on twitter that the song getting as high as it is right now cannot be attributed only to stans, YET I see tons of ppl saying how they are gifting everyone and their mother with the song. Sooooo my question is realistically how much can the chart position be attributed to fandom and the rest be to actual casual fans and newbies?? If someone gifts, say, 10 copies do all of them count into how high it charts or is it like once per account? I say it's fans because the only way others would know would be the banner or what little radio play it has gotten in the US. None of the big Pop/CHR stations have spun it yet. So, IMO, it is fans. But I think that fact is EXCELLENT!! It shows his fanbase has not splintered away, like Cook's, David A's, maybe Daughtry's. It shows that his initial sales for the album should be quite good. ETA: It is going to start dropping soon. I would guess sometime tonight or tomorrow. But that's normal. Nobody panic! When the CHR stations start playing it, it will go up again and stay up. That won't start to happen until January. I really think it is going to be BIG! BTW, it has already peaked higher than FYE, the single!

It's good, but I sure hope as promo and radio spins kick in that he will get more casual/new fans because, as awesome as it is for him to have such a dedicated fanbase, imo having his sales be big because his diehards are buying 20 and/or gifting copies kinda cheapens the success. Like how Bieber fans have meet ups and buy all his cd's to drive his sales upwards. It feels like fake success in a way. So basically I am not taking any stock in these early itunes stats...Imma wait until after things ramp up in Jan and the diehards have stopped buying and gifting like mad (wait..does it ever stop?) to celebrate any numbers.

Mary The Knight ilovehawaian Mary The Knight So this is how the new band will look like > i.imgur.com/gP5hI.jpg keyooot :3 I'm not an ageist, but hell yeah for the teen appeal w/out M!! 43 seco Err, Tommy. I don't think you're "getting" the idea behind earmuffs. Earmuffs have to hurt with all that hardware on Tommy's ears. I love this new band! Tommy and Isaac have always been favorites of mine.

That won't start to happen until January. I really think it is going to be BIG! BTW, it has already peaked higher than FYE, the single! I don't think it is. I follow several people who are Pulse posters and analyze this stuff inside and out and many INSIST that the iTunes banners are hugely responsible for Kesha and Adele's initial success. Adele had a banner long before her album was released and long before she started getting airplay and was killing because people were sampling from the iTunes store. That's what the banners are there for. It's easier than going to a record store and putting on the headphones any day. Radio is still dominant, but it is not the only way people are introduced to music. It's not even relevant to a large segment of the population. I've also seen tons of RTs from non-stan accounts. BTW: I've seen few offers of gifting and mainly for fans who cannot buy themselves. I have bought one copy on iTunes and gifted one to a Croatian fan who cannot buy in her country. ETA: I've also read analyses over an over again how gifting programs have little impact. Every dedicated fanbase does it, so therefore, they cancel each other out. Gaga's fans were organizing one for Marry the Night a few weeks ago and despite her huge fanbase, it wasn't really making a difference. I would NOT write these sales off as irrelevant.

Check my ETA above. It will definitely start dropping soon. But that is normal. Don't panic!!
