Adam looks in the mirror….he knows what his look will be. I too was so surprised …for the natural look to have to have so many layers!
I thought he looked pretty darn fine before he started. I loved that look. I thought he had on mascara etc, and that was the end result …and that he was going back to show us how he got there. lol…but then …nope ….he really got started.
When it comes to stage or movie make-up, I really have no clue what all goes into that preparation, but the two times I was within feet of Adam in Boise and then in Edmonton, his make-up ….up close was like …omgosh. Yet when I saw the youtube videos of him…that were further away, he did not look nearly as sad. ( bad/ sad…same ). Many years a part yet the same application concept.In QAL both Roger and Brian’s skin looked dewy and fresh. I know I am like a broken record on this topic as I am repeating my views of those experiences. Those lyrics— “My make-up may be flaking” is exactly how I remember the Edmonton concert. Like his face had cracked with sweat. I loved being close but the make-up is really my memory…and the red hair, which I think he himself had to get rid of. He felt badly re the red dye he left on hotel towels. Haha
The recent pics of the Disco rollerblading…he looked great….when close up images can be tricky. I know heavier make-up enhances the flaws on my skin. Think of the experimenting he had done and the size of his make- up collection! Holy Moly! How many brushes do some of you have in your make-up drawer….?? From the gal who has two! Lol!

I always felt that makeup could enhance a look if not overdone. But too much of it and too heavy is just not appealing. I saw a picture of GaGa, a few days ago, and my thought was you made the choice to look like a clown. Why? I guess because you can and want to. HA. Unless you are going for a KISS or Alice type character, OTT heavy makeup is just not a good look on males or females, imo. But I do think that what translates just fine on stage can be startling or off-putting in pictures, or interviews or close up in person. And sometimes it is not a bad thing to have a little mystery about how you obtain your look instead of obviously caking it on. Then the conversation becomes about the makeup. Of course, that could be the point, lol.
Thanks for saying and showing that a filter was used in Adam's picture. I wondered what he had done to his face? HA!

Haha, just watched Adam's makeup tutorial, and now I totally understand why he's always late lol  That's quite the routine for a "natural" look. My natural look consists of no makeup at all lol. But he looks amazing...even before the makeup. Love him, still and always  |

One of the best "natural looks" I remember was when Adam performed with Queen in the UK on New Years Eve. Viewers, who did not know him, were in awe of his beauty. The tweets were glorious and no one was talking about makeup, lol. His eyes were hypnotic with just a hint of color that you hardly noticed. And the hair and voice were gorgeous. The reactions to him and the QAL performance were so much fun.
